Application of SBRA method in the framework of probabilistic assessment of a supporting system which consist of slender steel-concrete columns
Pustka, David ; Čajka, R. ; Marek, Pavel
Modern reinforced concrete structural systems, consisted of various slender members (i.e. columns, piers, frame legs, etc.), are used more frequent than ever. Effects of external forces on these structures are significantly dependent on their deformations. Reliability assessment of such structures should be thus based on equilibrium of internal and external forces acting on deformed structures. One of these methods is also SBRA (Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment) method, documented in e.g. [1], [2], [3], [8]. Potential of this method is briefly outlined in the study dealing with the reliability analysis of a structural system made by slender reinforced concrete columns. This study is introduced in the full version of this paper stored on the enclosed CDROM.
SBRA method vs.eurocode - reliability assessment of a steel structure
Pustka, David ; Marek, Pavel
The paper shortly explains the limitations of the partial factors Design concept , PFD, and on concrete example of a simple steel structure shows the differences between reliability assessment based on the PFD approach used in Eurocode and SBRA method.
