Internet movie reviews of Django Unchained and user comments on Czech-Slovak Film Database

The bachelor thesis Internet movie reviews of Django Unchained and user comments on Czech-Slovak Film Database analyses and compares selected internet movie reviews and user comments on Czech-Slovak Film Database. The opening section of the thesis is dedicated to Quentin Tarantino as a filmmaker and Django Unchained, his highest-grossing film. Summary of the development from the initial creative idea to the first-ever screening of the movie, analysis of the story and its comparison to screenwriting theory, description of Django Unchained's genre influences and the basic overview of its critical reception all gets covered. The second part of the thesis deals with film criticism and its history as a type of art criticism and briefly defines the publicist genres of review and commentary. It also focuses on Czech-Slovak Film Database, including the description of its most important functions. The final part of the thesis contains the analysis of selected movie reviews found on both foreign and Czech media sites and user comments on Czech-Slovak Film Database. These pieces are analysed on the basis of their content and language means, by which they also get compared to each other.
