THIN LUBRICANT FILMS STUDY USING SPECTROSCOPIC REFLECTOMETRY

ectroscopic reflectometry is measurement technique that enables the study of the thickness and refractive index of thin layers. This thesis deals with its use for the study of lubrication films within EHD contact and verifies a new approach suggested in recent publications. It is focused on the development of an optical arrangement and mathematical model for the lubrication film thickness measurement within the entire EHD contact. This technique brings the possibility to study the pressure distribution within the contact area through the evaluation of changes in lubricant refractive index.
Ellipsometry of Thin Films

Diploma thesis deals with ageing process of thin films of Co and Cu on Si substrate, prepared by the IBAD method. The process of film ageing, which depends on time of exposition to the atmosphere at room conditions, was investigated with spectroscopic ellipsometry (VIS+UV) and atomic force microscopy. In case of thin Co films, approximately four days long incubation period was observed. During this time period, a change in the optical parameters of the film occurs without a measurable change of the film topography. Using non-contact atomic force microscopy, a growth of the transitional film in the island growth regime was observed. During the ageing of thin Cu films, two stages of growth of the transitional layer were observed - nucleation stage and growth stage. Both of these time periods of the transitional layer growth show direct logarithmic dependence. Using non-contact atomic force microscopy, the growth of the transitional film was observed. Using atomic force microscopy in non-contact regime, time dependent measurement was done and the process of forming of one monolayer of the transitional layer was documented. Within the diploma thesis, a series of experiments on ultra high vacuum system were performed in order to investigate phase transformation of thin Fe films (22 monolayers) on Cu(100) stabilized by CO absorption. The transformation from fcc phase to bcc phase was induced by Ar+ ion beam bombardment with the ion energy in the range (0.5-4) keV. The process of phase transformation was observed by surface magneto-optic Kerr effect, Auger electron spectroscopy and low energy electron diffraction.
Measurement of thin films properties by imaging spectroscopy and magnetooptical Kerr effect

This thesis is divided into three main sections that deal with optical and magnetic thin films properties and their measurements techniques. Principles of the spectroscopic reflectometry and measurements of optical properties are described in the first part. Results of imaging reflectometry are most important. This technique is based on in situ monitoring of optical properties of SiO2 thin films during etching over the area cca 10 × 13 mm2. In next section magnetic properties of thin films and new apparatus built on the Institute of Physical Engineering of BUT are shown. Magnetic properties were observed by longitudinal magneto-optical Kerr effect. The construction of the device is based on a light beam with rectilinear polarization reflected from magnetic material with turned polarization. For investigation of local magnetic properties of microstructures a microscope objective focusing laser beam on the sample is used. The last part of the thesis is aimed on improving of a spin valve structure Co/Cu/NiFe. This work was done within the frame of the Erasmus project in Laboratoire Louis Néel in Grenoble. The goal was to achieve the value of GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance) as high as possible by changing of deposition parameters. This value describes the rate of resistances in different mutual directions of magnetization in trilayers.

The Building of the Research Center in Brno - Preparation of Building Process

The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to develop selected parts of technologically-building project of the Masaryk university´s campus in Brno, Hall A29. The building will be used as a research establishment. It has eleven building sites and the main one is tackled in detail. The bachelor thesis includes a technical report about the technologically-building project, the time schedule, suggestion of the realization of the main stages of its construction, including recommendation of the major building machines. The bachelor thesis also includes the project of site equipment, technological regulations for carrying out the pilotage, the check and test plan, the plan of safety and health protection during work, the budget of fabric and specialization in the field of building construction.

The subject of the thesis is the solution of technological preparation of new building construction Futurama Business Park - the object C. In this thesis, is solved by the implementation of earthwork, foundation structures and reinforced concrete monolithic skeleton. Establishment of the building will be made on the concrete foundation slab. The building is designed as a reinforced concrete frame with perimeter steel columns and glass façade. The work also includes a timetable and financial plan (budget) building, technological regulations, technical report of building equipment, mechanical design assembly, inspection and test plan, design of site facilities, safety plan, impact of technological stage on the environment.
Hotel in Čeladná - Construction technological project

This thesis is focused on the developing of the implementation phase of the Hotel MIURA in the village of Čeladná. The project is describing particular stages of technological realization of this construction, technology, implementation of the main subject of hydro-insulation system, including design control and test plan for its implementation, design and description of site equipment, the draft contract for realization. The work is further supplemented by an objects schedule and detailing schedule of the main hotel building, a description of major equipment and materials used, budget for the main calculations of the object and other objects.
