The Jiraskuv Hronov Festival in 1945-1960

This thesis deals with the changes of the amateur theatre show Jiraskuv Hronov since 1945 until the end of 1950s. The first chapter is dedicated to the festival's establishment and period of World War II. The main part of the text describes the years 1945-1960 and the changes in dramaturgy and organization of the festival due to several major historical events happening in said period. This part of thesis describes the period after World War II. and the subsequent takeover by the Communist party. In the year 1953 the festival goes through considerable attenuation of interest and two years later the festival comes again to the forefront of amateur shows. The end of 1950s brings development of theaters of small forms which begin to appear on the Jiraskuv Hronov too.
