Pulse check in pharmacies IV Supervisor: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Anna Rejmanová, Ph.D. Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a serious arrhythmia that is also the most common heart rhythm disorder in our population and its incidence continues to rise. It can be a cause of high morbidity and mortality if it is not detected and treated in time. Unfortunately, almost one third of patients have an asymptomatic AF. Screening activities in pharmacies are a possible tool for early detection of hidden arrhythmias. Aim: The aim of the study was to measure heart rate (HR), blood pressure (BP) and to monitor some of the symptoms of AF in patients involved in screening for heart rhythm disorders in a community pharmacy. Methods: HR measurements took place for eight weeks (08-09/2021 and 12/2021-01/2022) in two community pharmacies in Doksy and Cvikov. Patients ≥ 55 years of age were offered the option of AF screening. First, the HR was measured by palpation. Subsequently, it was verified with a Veroval ECG device. It is often asymptomatic. If left untreated, the patient is at significant risk of complications, especially of ischemic stroke (IS) and heart failure. These complications can be effectively prevented by early detection of AF and initiation of treatment. Population screening activities performed at pharmacies could serve as an useful tool for detection of latent arrhythmias. Objective: The aim of this diploma thesis was to analyze the heart rate, blood pressure, selected symptoms and risk factors for IS in real patient population and to raise their awareness in the field of heart rate monitoring. Aim: The aim of this study was to raise awareness of the possibility and meaning of heart rate monitoring to detect dysrhythmias, especially atrial fibrillation, to analyze the symptoms and risk factors of heart rhythm disorders, and to monitor blood pressure. A sub-objective was also to demonstrate the possibility of pharmacist involvement in measuring heart rate (HR) and searching for patients with previously undiagnosed heart rhythm abnormalities. Methods: The design was a prospective cross-sectional bicentric study. Analysis of care in patients at risk for arterial hypertension in pharmacy IV. Author: Lada Kotlanová Tutor: PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Introduction and aim: Arterial hypertension (AH) belongs due to its pressure and atherosclerotic complications among very serious global health problems. The main goal of the therapy of AH is to prevent these complications, comprising early diagnosis and proper treatment plan. The aim of the study was to realize counselling in a pharmacy focused on clients with the risk of AH or already diagnosed AH. Metodology: Data were collected in a community pharmacy in Kralovice from September 2014 to January 2015. Prior to blood pressure measurement, the controlled interview was conducted with each client using special form which enabled to obtain important data from clients' history. Following data were obtained: socio-demographic characteristics of each client; their relationship to blood pressure measurement; risk factors of AH or atherosclerosis, respectively; disease history and use of drugs including food supplements. The ways of comparing performance of Oracle databases

This thesis examines ways of comparing performance of Oracle databases. The need to compare performance is given by making changes in database systems, for example changes in databases structures or database management systems. One of the goals of this thesis includes a description of options and ways of comparing performance of Oracle databases which does not involve any additional licensing costs. Because there is a need to evaluate obtained performance indicators, part of this thesis deals with the design and implementation tool, which allows analysis of data and their evaluation through defined reports. Functionality of the tool is verified and demonstrated on data obtained from real databases. The main contribution of this thesis is the implementation of the tool, which significantly facilitate evaluating performance impact of changes which should be made in the production database.

Database design for ISP

This bachelor thesis deals with analysis, design and implementation of database application, which could benefit an organization providing internet access. The whole text is built on several years of personal experience of the author in providing an Internet connection. Main goal of this thesis is to create a flexible database design and test it successfully in a database system, Oracle 10g Express Edition. The main function of the database is to cover the following three business processes: customer records, asset management and providing an overview of individual employees. Database functionality is verified by the implementation and filling the database with test data.
