Szewieczek, Jakub ; Maleček, Jan (advisor) ; Michalička, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Effect of lighting conditions on fine hand motor skills in sleep deprived soldiers Objectives: Determination of the effect of sleep deprivation performed during blue light exposure and during blue light blocking on fine motor skills of the hands. Methods: This theoretical-empirical work was conducted on a research cohort of 8 young men (n = 8) with an average age of 22,6 ± 1.6 years, height of 181,1 ± 3,7 cm and weight of 76,9 ± 4,9 kg. The participants were volunteers from the Military Physical Education Department at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FPE) of Charles University (UK). The participants were induced into total sleep deprivation for 36 hours in two interventions. During this time, they followed established rules to avoid bias in the results and the course of the intervention was conducted according to standardized conditions. The first sleep deprivation intervention was performed in light and the second in darkness with blue light blocking. Disassembly and machine gun collection took place at fixed times and conditions, always at 7:30 am and 7:30 pm. Before each measurement, probands completed the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) questionnaire, which monitored the subjective level of sleepiness. In total, four measurements were taken with sleep deprivation and one...

Tomášek, Vojtěch ; Maleček, Jan (advisor) ; Prokešová, Eva (referee)
Title: Prevalence and factors associated with the use of nicotine products in the military: systematic research Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to use a systematic search of scientific databases to create an overview of the prevalence of nicotine use and how soldiers apply nicotine. Moreover, find out what factors may be associated with nicotine use. Methods: To create this bachelor thesis, the systematic research method according to the referenced selection of items per the PRISMA recommendation was used. After completing the research question and setting the thesis goals, a script was created through the scientific databases PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science according to pre-defined keywords. Selected studies that corresponded to the predetermined criteria were further used to prepare the data and their subsequent synthesis. In conclusion, the studies were evaluated in terms of methodological quality. Results: A total of 29 selected studies were included in the systematic search. A total of 25 studies addressed the prevalence of nicotine use, and the individual results of these studies indicated a prevalence of nicotine product use in the military environment that ranged from 10 % to 53 %. More specific prevalence rates for each study can be found in Table 1. A total of 9...

Eliášová, Kamila ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Maleček, Jan (referee)
Title: The influence of specific fitness training on the annual physical examination of logistician soldiers Objectives: This thesis aims to explore if the controlled hours of endurance-oriented physical training three times a week for the period of two months have more positive results on the soldiers' endurance part within the yearly control tests of the annual examination of professional soldiers than the individual physical training. Methods: A questionnaire method was used to gather primary data and information. The questionnaire aimed to obtain comprehensive information about the physical training and preparation for the annual physical examination of professional soldiers. The information was further used for a subsequent research based in the Deployable Forces Support Battalion in Rakovnik. A sample of professional military probands was randomly selected from those interested in participating in this research. The input data were the results of the entrance examination of the research participants, which took place before the start of the intervention. The intervention group subsequently participated in an exercise program where the main content was to increase endurance abilities. The control group prepared themselves for the annual review. At the end of the intervention both groups...

Mašek, David ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Maleček, Jan (referee)
Title: Exercises and motor tests used for military personnel training and testing: a systematic review. Objective: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine what exercises and motor tests are most commonly used to develop and test strength abilities in military personnel and then compare their frequency and purpose of use in military training. Methods: This bachelor thesis was conducted in the form of a systematic review dealing with exercises and motor tests designed for training and testing the strength abilities of military personnel. The methodological procedure of the study was conducted based on the recommendation of PRISMA. To initially select potentially suitable studies, a script was constructed and used to search the Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed databases. A non- systematic search of the Google Scholar database was conducted for added other studies. The selected studies had to meet predefined inclusion criteria, and all studies were checked for risk of bias before inclusion in the systematic review. Results: When testing the strength of military personnel, the highest frequency was recorded in motor tests, where the resistance was formed by the weight of one's own body (cranks, seats, and push-ups). Furthermore, strength endurance testing prevailed over other types of...

Title: Endurance skills and their testing in a military: a systematic review Aim: This thesis aims to create an overview of the frequency of tests used to test long-term, total and dynamic endurance in military personnel based on a systematic search of scientific publications. Methods: A systematic search method was used to create this bachelor thesis, based on a referred selection of items according to PRISMA recommendations. After defining the research question and objectives of the thesis, a search script was constructed through predefined keywords in the bibliographic and citation databases Web of Science, Scopus and PubMed. Studies that met the predefined criteria were used for data processing and subsequent synthesis. Lastly, studies underwent a methodological quality assessment. Results: The most commonly used test evaluated was the 3.2 km run, which included 44 of the 131 studies included in this systematic review. This is primarily due to the numerous representation of studies from the USA and their Army APFT test. The next most frequently used test evaluated was loaded marching, which may have a more significant transfer to the military context. The most common distance was also 3.2 km, found in 19 of 131 sources, with a relatively diverse range of loads (15 - 44.7 kg), with the most...
