Analysis of load and pressure to the outer and inner skis in alpine disciplines
Fuková, Miroslava ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havel, Jan (referee)
Title: The analysis of force and pressure against inner and outer skis in alpine disciplines Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to outline a review study of inner and outer ski force analysis in alpine skiing Methods: This thesis is presented as a review study outsourcing via research method, analysis, and comparison method. The purpose is to search, synthesise, and extract existing knowledge on inner and outer ski force in alpine skiing. The pressure against skis has been defined as the main parametr. Results: We came to a conclusion that pressure against outer ski dominates over pressure against inner ski based on the sources used in this thesis. We found out that in most cases the outer ski was under bigger pressure, and in rare cases not so. Conclusion: The practical usage of this thesis is to improve reader's overview on ski techniques, and the importance of implementing outer ski force awareness into basic set of skills among young skiers. This skill is crucial from certain point in a skier career for future improvement of technique and faster management of tracks. As a follow-up of the research we advise to carry out an empirical in-field measurement of outer ski pressure and the angle of angulation, especially within young skiers. This research can be done by tensometric insoles with 3D...
Comparison of criteria for selection of rowers for senior national rowing teams in the Czech Republic and other countries
Jelínek, Tomáš ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Koudela, Filip (referee)
Abstract Title: Comparison of criteria for selection of rowers for senior national rowing teams in the Czech Republic and other countries Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create an inspirational resource for rowing coaches based on the analysis and comparison of nomination criteria for the selection of rowers for national teams in the Czech Republic and other countries in senior categories. Methods: The thesis is structured as an overview study, using the methods of content analysis and comparison. The aim is to synthesize existing data in order to make the information more comprehensive. We have set ergometer tests (land tests) and water tests as the parameters of observation, which are required for nomination to the national teams of U23 and senior national teams of the selected countries. Results: The study showed the difference in nomination criteria for senior national teams of the selected countries. It was found that in the selected countries that were compared, elite rowers in the U23 and senior categories can be nominated to the national teams primarily on the basis of the 2000 metres or 6000 metres ergometer tests or water tests. Conclusion: The study showed the difference in nomination criteria for senior national teams of the selected countries. It was found that in the selected...
Development of technique in downhill skiing with a focus on step and pedal technique
Bakaljar, Adrian ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havel, Jan (referee)
Title: Development of technique in downhill skiing with a focus on step and pedal technique. Objectives: The aim of the work is to create a comprehensive overview study of alpine skiing technique and its development from step to pedal technique. This study will be an inspiring and practical source of information for ski instructors and teachers. Methods: In this work, we used the research method and the analysis method. We determined the movement of the skier's centre of gravity, cornering of the turn and pressure work as the tracking parameters. We used various sources by searching and studying professional publications in available databases and libraries. Results: We found that the technique of descending and turning on skis changed over time along with the change in ski equipment. The observed differences between the crotch a pedal technique show a great similarity between the two techniques. The fundamental difference in techniques was the movement of the skier's centre of gravity and the different degree of use of skiing skills. The step technique is based on the movement of the skier's central centre of gravity and dominates the edging skill, while the pedal technique is based on changing the load on the skis and dominates the work with pressure. Anthropometrical, physiological, strength and other determinants of rowing performance - review of correlation-predictive analyses
Hellebrand, Jaroslav ; Busta, Jan (advisor) ; Macas, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Anthropometrical, physiological, strength and other determinants of rowing performance - review of correlation-predictive analyses Objectives: To conduct a systematic literature review to search for a best single performance variable(s) (a measure of performance) that is(are) associated with rowing performance. Methods: This thesis utilizes usual review methods in a form of database search, synthesis, and data extraction. Results: After the initial screening of 534 articles the total of 24 articles was included in this thesis for review. We identified 11 performance variables with high coefficient of correlation; Body Mass (kg), Lean Mass (kg), VO2Max (L/min), Power at VO2Max (W), Power at 4mml (W), Body Height (cm), Wingate mean (W), Wingate maximal (W), Wingate minimal (W), Leg Press 1RM (kg), and 2000m rowing ergometer score. Keywords: rowing, performance analysis, correlation, performance prediction, review
Comparison of the Czech and Norwegian models of training preparation of national men's rowing teams
Fleissner, Jan ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Koudela, Filip (referee)
Title: Comparison of the Czech and Norwegian models of training preparation of national men's rowing teams Aims: To create an inspiring source of information for coaches and competitors based on the differences between the Norwegian and Czech models of sports training in rowing. This study should give coaches and athletes insight into the current sports training of the world's best rowers and provide a model for creating training plans. Methods: The present study is a comparative review aimed at mapping and comparing some of the performance factors in rowing. The research data is a record of training models of the Norwegian and Czech national men's rowing teams. In order to explore the given question, it was necessary to study a large number of different sources and professional publications that could be traced and studied in available databases and libraries, as well as records of racing teams and coaches working in the field of professional sport. The Norwegian and Czech training models are compared based on chosen parameters. The parameters of comparison are the number of training intensity zones used by each team and the difference in the percentage of training intensity zones per annual training cycle. The following attribute observed was the annual training volumes. Last but not least, other...
Sports nutrition supplements and their use among junior and senior rowers i Czech Republic
Ondráčková, Eliška ; Kinkorová, Ivana (advisor) ; Macas, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Sports nutrition supplements and their use among junior and senior rowers in Czech Republic Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to compare the use of sports nutrition supplements in junior and senior rowers categories in the Czech Republic. Methods: In this thesis, a comparative study was used in which an online survey method was used in the research. Data was collected using a survey that participants completed independently online. The survey was placed in a Google forms environment. The link to the survey was disseminated among the research participants through social networking sites. Results: The results of the survey showed that 75 % of the respondents use sports nutrition supplements, with almost half of them using them more than once a week between 2 and 5 years. The required number of junior rowers did not participate in the survey, so we can assume that there are more rowers in the senior category than in the junior category. For this reason, the results of the survey were processed on rowers in general. The respondents use sports nutrition supplements most in the preparation period, and the most used supplements are protein preparations. The most frequently described observed effects of sports nutrition supplements are both a better feeling of performance and a feeling of...
