The thesis comprises of the development of overall unemployment analysis in the microregion. Using statistical methods, I evaluated the monitored figures in years from 2005 to 2015. Elementary characteristics of time series and trendy functions were used for the solution. Subsequently, the work includes prediction of further development of unemployment and survey evaluation. At the end, I suggested ways of decreasing unemployment of selected high-risk persons.

Influence of former landscape elements on soil properties
Matějovský, Jiří ; Zádorová, Tereza (advisor) ; Luděk, Luděk (referee)
Hedgerows are elements in landscape, creating a landscape structure and influencing soil properties. This thesis is focused on the assessment of impact of the former landscape elements on current soil properties. Study area is located in the Central Bohemian Region, in the district of Pribram. Study plot area is 33 ha and is currently managed as a single large unit without any landscape elements. Assessment of the degree of impact on soil properties was mainly focused on soil depth, stratigraphic profile and organic carbon content. Sampling was carried out perpendicularly to the four selected hedgerows. The deepest soils, as well as the largest percentage of organic carbon were observed in areas of the original occurrence of hedgerows. Places above the hedgerows did not show significantly better soil properties, while at the locations below the hedgerows were identified deeper soils and increased organic carbon content. These findings confirmed the importance of hedgerows and their ability to influence soil properties.
Maternal behaviour in Giraffes (Giraffidae)
Gloneková, Markéta ; Baranyiová, Eva (advisor) ; Luděk, Luděk (referee)
Allomaternal care is one of the most interesting types of cooperation among females. Its most extreme form is allonursing, nursing of a non-filial young, which is still not completely understood, even though many hypotheses have been postulated. This type of cooperation among giraffes had not been expected for long time. This was based on the initial opinion that giraffes do not have social system and form only weak social bonds. However, my bachelor and master theses showed high occurrence of allonursing in captive giraffes. The first aim (1) of this thesis was to test all possible hypotheses explaining allonursing in captive giraffes. However, a lot of the information needed to test them were missing, which resulted in the formulation of further aims. The second aim (2) was to test the hierarchy in captive giraffes. The third aim (3) was to describe the growth and weight of captive giraffes. The fourth aim (4) was to compare nursing patterns in the zoo and in the nature reserve Bandia, Senegal and the last aim (5) was to test the social bonds among giraffes in the nature reserve Bandia, Senegal. (1) From 2007 to 2011, the nursing behaviour of 24 females and 37 calves was observed. Eighty-three percent of the females allonursed a nonfilial calf and 86.5% of calves allosuckled from a nonmaternal female. Allonursing in giraffes was explained by milk-theft from the point of view of the calves and possible reciprocity among females. (2) The agonistic interactions of 31 giraffes were recorded in four herds. A linear hierarchy was been found among giraffes and rank was significantly affected by age and time spent in the herd. (3) The weight data from 43 giraffes in Prague zoo were collected from 2009 to 2013 and provided the basic information about giraffe growth and weight. (4) I also observed the nursing behaviour of seven and four female-calf pairs in the fenced Bandia reserve, Senegal, and in Prague zoo, respectively, both for 22 days. The differences in nursing patterns were likely to reflect anti-predator behaviour, the population density of animals and the distribution of food resources. (5) Finally, I investigated the social preferences of 28 introduced giraffes in semi-captivity in the nature reserve Bandia, Senegal and provided the results supporting the existence of a fission fusion social system among giraffes with social preferences among adult females. The overall results provide unique findings on allonursing in general as well as changing our perspective on giraffe social behaviour.

Own thesis then tracks the evolution of the population, fertility, mortality, abortion, nuptiality, divorce and migration of the population between 2004--2013. Statistical analysis of foreign trade results in the Czech Republic
Milfaitová, Miroslava ; Prášilová, Marie (advisor) ; Luděk , Luděk (referee)
The thesis is focused on the development of the export and import of foreign trade of the Czech Republic in the years 2000 - 2014. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part of the analysis. The practical part examines the total foreign trade through the statistical analysis. The development of the foreign trade is positively influenced by the accession to the European Union and negatively influenced by the global crisis, which contributed to the decline of our economy. The changes of the timeline are compared through basic and chain indexes. The work is focused on the territorial structure in terms of continents and grouping of countries, which is defined by the Czech Statistical Office. Then the commodity structure includes the most important items, which are traded by our country. The work deals also with the foreign-trade relations with the most important partners of Czech Republic, which are the European Union, Germany, Slovakia, Poland and nowadays even China. By these partners it examines mainly their participation in the total trade of the Czech Republic, changes of individual years and commodity structure. Consequently to calculate the right trend function, and then the forecasts of imports and exports for the next two years. However, the foreign trade of the Czech Republic is influenced by many factors, especially the exchange rate, oil prices and others commodities, as well as the development of the European Union. So at the conclusion of the work are given perspectives and recommendations for future positive development of foreign trade together with an overall assessment of the work.

At first, the thesis describes the issues of regional disparities along with their possible solutions. The following part deals with the characteristic of the Liberec Region. In the practical part the evaluation concering the method of time series analysis and method of traffic lights is used. In the conclusion, the sectional integrated indicator of quality of life is created by the point method. This indicator creates a comprehensive view of the regions. The final ranking regarding the quality of life in the regions, which is followed by the measures directed at the alleviation of the regional disparities, is designed to the regions through the integrated indicator.
