- 1 - Roman officials during the Republic Abstract This thesis was created with the aim to provide a comprehensive look into the problematics of Roman magistracies in the republican times. Appart from the listing of individual republican offices and their powers, which constitutes the crux of this thesis, it also grapples many questions closely connected to the concept of Roman republican magistracies, including questions of sociopolitical and legal nature. Attention is also given to historical and societal circumstances that have led to the creation of individual magistracies, rules governing holding these offices, their acquisition and resignation and furthermore the relationship between individual magistracies regarding the course of offices. The opening chapter deals with the term Roman magistracy itself and later with the principles governing magistracies as a whole as well as the division of offices into groups based on certain criteria. Likewise, the Roman course of offices - cursus honorum is an important part of the chapter as well as the insignia and privileges of the office that distinguished Roman magistrates from the ordinary citizens. Stenting of carotid stenoses with distal protection device and intravascular ultrasound

Stenting of carotid stenoses with distal protection device and intravascular ultrasound Carotid artery stenting is generally accepted and less invasive alternative to surgical endarterectomy for indicated patients. The goal of the treatment is to prevent strokes and subsequent neurological problems. This paper introduces the current state of this method of intervention, its indications and specifically addresses the issue of possible uses and benefits of intravascular ultrasound ( IVUS) and virtual histologization (VH ) in the diagnosis of carotid stenosis and atherosclerotic plaque and treatment of carotid artery stenosis. The author performed 119 IVUS examinations on 110 patients, 33 of these examinations were made virtual histologization of plaque. Periprocedural complications were observed during IVUS examination and stenting. Using the virtual histologization, atherosclerotic carotid plaques were classified into types according to their composition (risk vs . risk-free plaques) and correlated with the length of stenosis and percentage of stenosis. In the IVUS group there were 80 men and 30 women, the average age was 72 years, symptomatic carotid artery was examined in 69 cases (58 %), asymptomatic in 50 cases (42 %). The thesis deals with the financial analysis of the company Ljunghall, Ltd. and focuses on the period from 2010 to 2014. The work is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the financial analysis itself, its purpose and application, particular methods and indicators are described. The practical part, first, presents the analysed company, describes its competitors and the industry. Afterwards, the methods and indicators presented in the theoretical part are applied to the analysed company. These indicators are also, in some cases, compared with the indicators of both the competing company and the industry. Finally, the financial health of the business is evaluated and then compared with the competitor and the industry.
