Optical infrastructures of 5th generation mobile networks (5G)
Jančošek, Matúš ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Látal, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the current state of optical networks used in telecommunications. There is an analysis of the current state of optical networks and a comparison of the last two generations of mobile networks. The main part of the work is the simulation of optical transmission. Three different types of modulations are compared, three different types of optical fibers according to the ITU-T type and four different wavelengths, which present standard and non-standard wavelengths. The second simulation is a comparison of modulations and the effect of distance on bit error rate. The results of the analyses are presented in the tables.
Measurement of basic parameters of optical and optoelectronic components
Beneš, Pavel ; Látal, Michal (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with optical and optoelecronic components. The first part of the work describes the optical paths and methods of their measurement. The second part describes the coupler, circulator and isolator. Further described is a laser diode, a photodetector and a modulator. The third part describes the measurement procedure of the coupler, circulator, isolator, laser diode, photodetector and modulator. The measured values are compared with the catalog values.
Quantum key distribution test polygon
Širjov, Jakub ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Látal, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this masters thesis is to explain quantum key distribution (QKD) and principle of signal transmission in the quantum channel. Further this thesis complains commercial distributors of QKD technologies and their individual appliances. Practical part of the thesis is separated to 3 parts. First part handles transmission of quantum keys in QKDNetsim simulator. Second part takes care of design and creation of a test polygon that allows for testing of many optical network configurations with quantum signal and normal data traffic being transmitted in a single fiber. Multiple simulations of use of various filter types to supress the signal noise in the program VPIphotonics and tested by QKDNetsim are shown in the last part of this thesis.
Simultaneous Transmission Of 200 Gbit/S, 10 Gbit/S And Accurate Time Transmission Over 100 Km Using Only One Step Amplification
Látal, Michal
This paper focuses on simultaneous transmission of selected photonic services by one singlemode fiber. Except common data transmission with a bitrate of 10 Gbit/s, 200 Gbit/s high-speed data transmission and accurate time transmission are considered. The total measurement length was 100 km and the signals were amplified only at the beginning of the route using Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). Channel spacing was 100 GHz according to ITU-T G.694.1 standard.
Creation of laboratory exercises focused on measurement of basic parameters of telecommunication cables
Mlatec, Jan ; Látal, Michal (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on getting acquainted with the basic parameters of telecommunication lines. The laboratory is equipped measuring equipments used to measure. First, the individual cables were connected to the measuring instruments. This was followed by the launch of the devices and a detailed acquaintance with their functions. After obtaining the requisite knowledge of the device, a manual was prepared, which describes the working procedure for working with measuring equipments. The attachment which is a part of the thesis contain the model design of the individual laboratory tasks. Each of these exercises contains extensive theoretical introduction to solve problems and task assignment. First, the individual cables were connected to the measuring instruments. This was followed by the launch of the devices and a detailed acquaintance with their functions. After gaining the necessary knowledge about the device, an abbreviated manual was prepared, which describes the work procedure of measurement work, which is in the appendix to this work. Furthermore, a design of laboratory tasks for students was performed. This work contains a sample elaboration of individual laboratory tasks. The first task was created to measure the attenuation characteristics of coaxial cables. Students will learn how the attenuation of individual types of cables are different. The second task is to measure the frequency dependence of the impedance of coaxial cables. Students will again check the important characteristics of individual types of coaxial cables. The third task is to measure the parameters of UTP cables that will make students able to compare the properties with another type of cable.
Simultaneous transmission of photonic services in fibre optics
Látal, Michal ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis focuses on simultaneous transmission of selected photonic services by one single-mode optical fiber. The thesis deals with the problem of common transmission of multiple photonic services by one optical fiber using the wavelength division multiplex technology. Furthermore, the origin and influence of nonlinear phenomena accompanying the simultaneous transmission of photonic services are described. Except common data transmission with a bitrate of 10 Gbit/s, a common high-speed data signal transmission with a bitrate of 200 Gbit/s, accurate time transmission and high-power sensor signal are considered. During the aimultaneous transmission of selected photonic services, the measurement of the transmission parameters was performed for various variants of the simultaneous transmission arrangement. In particular, the influence of nonlinear phenomena and possible mutual interference of individual transmission channels at 50 and 100 GHz between signals was analyzed.
Verification of parameters of passive optical components on short wavelengths
Látal, Michal ; Filka, Miloslav (referee) ; Vojtěch, Josef (advisor)
Semestral thesis deals with the basic theoretical knowledge in the field of optics, light propagation and optical fibers. It describes in detail the optical transmission system and its associated issues, such as the attenuation of optical fibers or differently caused dispersion. The main part of this work is a description of each passive optical elements, their production technologies and applications in optical communications. Within the optical connection its radiation sources and detectors of optical radiation are explained. The last practical part is focused on the measurement of insertion loss provided by passive optical components.
