Averaging of biological signals
Kubík, Adam ; Čmiel, Vratislav (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is to introduce issue of averaging of biological signals. The first part of the thesis deals with the principles of individual averaging methods (constant, floating and exponential window) and describes their basic features. Moreover, the principle of filtered residue, detection of QRS complex, and stretching/shrinking the length of RR-interval to the standardized length are explicated. In the second part of the thesis the outcomes of practically realized (Matlab and GUI) methods of averaging (by final signal-to-noise ratio) are evaluated. Signals from MIT-BIH database are used.
QRS Complex Detector
Kubík, Adam ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
The aim of my thesis is to introduce issue of detection of QRS complex by squaring and envelope detection. The first part focuses on creation and scanning of heart electrical activity. Afterwards, the most frequent types of disturbance of EKG signal and their filtering are described. The second part is about real application of signal filtration and emphasis of QRS complexes using the methods which are mentioned above. Practical part is externalized in Matlab program. And signals from CSE library are used to test efficiency of the detectors.
Influence of Tyre Defect on the Driving Dynamics of a Vehicle
Kubík, Adam ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Panáček, Vladimír (advisor)
In this thesis, an effect of a tyre defect on the driving dynamics of a vehicle is dealt with. The first part of the thesis is mainly concerned with the vehicle dynamics, road resistance, adhesion, orientation characteristics of the tyres and slowing down. This chapter is followed by an overview of the manufacturing process and construction of modern passenger car tyres. The practical part is focused on driving tests that are used to demonstrate the influence of tyre defects on handling characteristics of the vehicle. The main focus of this thesis is on directional variation, braking distance, deceleration and lateral acceleration. The very end of the thesis concentrates on tyre defect in higher speeds and its after-effects as well as precautions for mitigation of these after-effects.
Returns on investment in human capital in the Czech Republic
Kubik, Adam ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to determine the profitability of tertiary degree studies and to compare the returns and profitability of such investment in human capital. In the theoretical section of this work I focus on the theory of human capital, especially with emphasis on education, which assumes higher earnings with higher education. Literary research suggests the truth of the hypothesis, making attending college and finishing with Master`s Degree the most effective. In the practical section I make successful verification of the hypothesis using calculations of the Internal rate of returns, the Net present value and the individual Rate of returns on investment in education. Finishing studies with Bachelor`s Degree appears to be far less beneficial than with Master`s Degree. This thesis may help students who are facing the dilemma whether to go to university or not, or to those who consider continuing their education after finishing Bachelor studies.
