Interdisciplinary Access to Teaching Science at Vocational Schools with Nonchemical Specialization
Kuželová, Nikola ; Rusek, Martin (advisor) ; Beneš, Pavel (referee)
Implementation of school educational programmes brought many changes, particularly at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. One of them is the inclusion of education into the field of natural sciences in many fields of secondary vocational schools, where it was previously missing. This brought some specifics and problems. Some schools are coping with the current situation by implementing an integrated science course. A part of this bachelor thesis is focused on the current state of science teaching in the Czech Republic. The main contribution of this thesis are the results of the content analysis of educational programmes at schools, where the integrated science course is taught. Special attention was paid to the actual implementation of the course, number of hours, general objectives and educational strategies. Another part of this thesis contains the results of a research on teachers' approach to teaching chemistry at secondary vocational schools and the results of a structured interview with a teacher of the integrated science course. The approach to the integration of science courses and teachers' attitudes towards this concept of teaching is evaluated as well.
