Venezuela and Cuba: The Comparison of the Regimes and the Mutual Relations

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the comparation of current political regimes in Venezuela and Cuba and on their mutual relations. In the comparation there is a specific attention paid to several chosen aspects that are key for the character of the regimes. These aspects are the causes and circumstances of the regimes' establishments, the personalities of their main leaders, the formation of the regimes during the first years in office, main political events and the official ideologies, foreign policies and their international positions and last but not least the economic situation of both countries. The contents of the thesis is divided into four main sections. The first section contains a thorough analysis of the regime in Venezuela that has existed from the year 1999 and also includes a short analysis of the events that lead to its establishment. The second section analyses the situation in Cuba since Fidel Castro came to power and it also pays a short attention to the circumstances that preceded that. The third extensive part analyses relations between Venezuela and Cuba since the year 1999 and it also summarizes the relations between these states from the beginning of Fidel Castro's government in 1958 to the year 1999.
