Professional ice hockey player contracts
Přibyl, Jakub ; Kohout, David (advisor) ; Svatoš, Martin (referee)
Professional ice hockey player contracts Abstract The topic of this thesis is professional player contracts in ice hockey. It is a very specifically chosen topic of the thesis, the main aim of which is to analyze the subject of individual player contracts. In order to achieve this, however, it was necessary to first set out the smaller sub- objectives of the thesis. These minor objectives will help to introduce the subject in a sufficient manner and also serve as a basis for the subsequent analysis of the problematic provisions of the players' contracts. The minor objectives were to set out the concept of "sport" and its division, to point out the insufficient legal regulation of professional sport in the Czech Republic and to compare activities of a professional hockey player with employment status and with entrepreneurship. In the las and main chapter, I aimed to analyze in detail the professional player contracts in ice hockey, their individual arrangements and to point out the problems caused mainly by the absence of legal regulation of professional sport and the autonomy of the will of the parties, especially the stronger party, the ice hockey club. Key words: player contract, professional sport, ice hockey
Secure reading of smart meters
Chaloupková, Denisa ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Kohout, David (advisor)
The work deals with the implementation of the secure push mode of the DLMS standard. It introduces the DLMS/COSEM standard, contains a theory for message security and describes how push works and its attributes. The Gurux library in Java is used and the example gurux.dlms.push.listener is modified. The Raspberry Pi platform is used as the server. Wireshark and the Gurux DLMS Translator available in Gurux GXDLMSDirector were used to verify security of a push message. Subsequently, push messages are compared in terms of their size according to the type of security used. The larger the content of the data sent in the message, the smaller the additional data needed to secure the messages in proportion to the total volume.
DLMS/COSEM load generator
Kohout, David ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is focused on Smart Metering, specifically the DLMS/COSEM specification. The paper describes most important parts of the standard and its application in smart grids. At first the DLMS protocol is examined. It is responsible for everything related in communication between clients and servers. Next described think is object model COSEM and its objects called OBIS. It shows how can we reference to these objects. In the second part – Traffic analyser are shown options of analysis of DLMS messages. This is after used for monitoring purposes. There is also described network topology including laboratory equipment. All devices were used for developing and testing the load generator of DLMS messages. App, which was created for this work is then described. The paper also assesses found problems in security and implementation of DLMS protocol.
Cyber security for power engineering
Sedláková, Dáša ; Kohout, David (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
Due to the IT and OT networks convergence, industrial systems are becoming vulnerable to different forms of security threats including rapidly growing cyber-attacks. Thesis is focused on an analysis of security recommendations in IEC 62351, vulnerability testing of industrial communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850) and mitigations proposal. An ATT&CK framework for ICS was chosen to become a methodology base for vulnerability testing. ATT&CK tactics and techniques were used to practically test vulnerability scans, SMV time synchronization, GOOSE spoofing, MMS Man in the Middle and ICMP Flood attacks. Attacks tested were evaluated with a risk analysis. Subsequently, mitigation measures were proposed on several levels (OT, IT, perimeter and physical level).
DLMS security suite implementation
Kohout, David ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on smart meters cyber security using DLMS Security Suite standard. Security is more important every day and DLMS specifies multiple methods of authentication and message encryption which is defined in Security Suites. For message creation there are multiple possible formats that can be used. For a better understanding all formats are analysed and compared using a specific example. Main part of this work is about making a testing application called VUT DLMS Tester which is used for testing this standard for real usage in distribution network. Whole development is cooperated with distribution companies and smart meter manufacturers. Application also implements higher levels of security which DLMS specifies. This application is used for testing multiple scenarios regarding security impact on data volume.
Power outage simulator
Sýkora, Dušan ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Kohout, David (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with building a smart gadget that is able to simulate blackouts. This simulator is able to interrupt or limit supply of 230 V electricity from a power grid to the tested appliance for adjustable duration and with adjustable frequency. The gadget is controllable remotely via a web interface. For that purpose, components have been selected and a program written for a microcontroller. Finally, functionality has been verified on multiple appliances.
Interactive web application for displaying of rainfall maps
Soboňa, Jakub ; Kohout, David (referee) ; Bubniak, Milan (advisor)
Testing the security of smart meters
Fitere, Ivana ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Kohout, David (advisor)
This thesis studies the topic of smart meters with closer focus on testing of the devices, examples of tests performed on these devices, life cycle of the meter from security and Key Management System perspective. First part summarizes the technologies used in this kind of communication, test types, standards regulating smart metering and description of the life cycle. The second part includes scheme of the Key Management System and laboratory for students, devoted to examination of communication, messages and verifying the security.
Application for Testing Smart Meters
Kohout, David
This paper presents our developed application for smart metering, which we are using to test the interoperability of different smart meters, compatibility with transmission technologies, to measure data volumes, test data security, and also ensure data security through the whole life-cycle of smart meters. The paper concludes with future development and planned features of our application, which is already being used for testing smart metering technologies at the Smart Grid Lab at BUT.
Athlete as an entrepreneur
Perušič, Ondřej ; Horáček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kohout, David (referee)
Athlete as an entrepreneur Abstract This thesis is focused mainly on the problematic of the athlete's role as an entrepreneur from the perspective of business law. Its goal is not only to describe the current situation and answer some questions related to the topic, but also to point out some very problematic facts and think about possible solutions to the very unsatisfactory situation of today's legislation on professional sports. In the first two chapters I would like to underline some specifics of the athlete's position as an entrepreneur and how it differs from the classic, normal entrepreneurship that we know. I would also like to emphasize quite serious lack on the field of terminology, that makes the necessary process of change even more difficult. Next two chapters will be focused on the two main aspects of athlete's entrepreneurship. First one concerns the contracts and obligations he is taking part in and the typical structure of legal bonds that it creates. In this chapter I would also like to describe the specific types of contracts that are either the most common ones or somehow unusual and specific for sports. The second chapter out of the two mentioned above will focus on the litigations that arise from these contrats or other legal reasons. I will only briefly introduce the problematics of...
