Internet addiction and other non-substance addiction at secondary school

The thesis is focused on non-substance addictions, particularly on forms of Internet addiction disorder which can occur at secondary school. My main goal is to discover if secondary school students are addicted to the Internet as well as the reasons for these addictions. Firstly, my bachelor thesis deals with the general characteristics of addictions and describes non-substance addictions, such as online gaming addiction and internet sex addiction. Moreover, I focused on the topic of compulsive Internet use in greater detail. In this thesis, I tried to briefly summarize what so-called dopamine is and how it relates to compulsive Internet use. Furthermore, the thesis deals more closely with the issue of time spent on the phone, digital detox, social networking, social media jealousy and applications such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter. The thesis summarizes the manifestations of these addictions, their causes, prevention, and treatment. Excerpts of semi-structured interviews with students are continuously documented in the thesis. The final chapter analyses the results of the field research and deals with the conclusion of the whole work. It is based on professional literature and a qualitatively contacted research probe from secondary school, which is listed in the appendix of the thesis....
