The projection of population mortality tables
Balajová, Helena ; Kořistka, Jan (advisor) ; Mazurová, Lucie (referee)
In the present work we deal with the problem of projecting mortality. At the beginning we describe the life table and we classify the methods and models (parametric models, non-parametric models, models based on reduction factors). The Lee - Carter method is described in detail. We focus on forecasts for a group of countries. We show existence of common trend in mortality in Europe and its disappearance. We assume that demograpahical characteristics of di erent countries with similar socioeconomic conditions will converge in the future. We apply this assumption using the augmented Lee - Carter model, in which selected countries have same trend in mortality as a group with lower mortality, and using Broekhoven approach, which determines that the mortality in given year in the future will be the same as in chosen group. In the last chapter we apply these methods in Central Europe.
Mortality projections by cause
Štádlerová, Kateřina ; Kořistka, Jan (advisor) ; Cipra, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis focuses on the mortality projections by causes of death. The thesis includes also the application of such knowledge on the data of the Czech population. The mortality projections are used nowadays more and more often due to the population ageing. The results of this thesis may be interesting both for financial institutions such as insurance companies and for the purposes of certain areas of government policy with regards to the pension planning. So far not many articles have been published in the Czech language, nor are there any published results of similar projections using the data derived from the Czech environment. In the present work I study the alternatives of assessment of insurance liabilities reřecting their own credit standing. I study especially how rating e®ects the calculation of a technical reserve of the life insurance company. The rst part of this study is more theoretical and shows the advantages and disadvantages of reřecting own credit standing of the liabilities in the assessment of the insurance liabilities. I explore varied opinions why should or should not be used current exit value for pricing of insurance liabilities. The second part of this document studies di®erent approaches to the recognition of insurance liabilities reřecting their own credit standing. The last one refers to the recognition of the technical reserves in the life insurance company.
