Role of adipokinetic hormone during starvation in Drosophila
KUTHANOVÁ, Michaela
The role of adipokinetic hormone (Drome-AKH) in maintaining the levels of basic nutrients, under starvation conditions, was studied using Drosophila melanogaster mutants with AKH deficiency (Akh1) and AKH abundance (EE-Akh). Our results showed lipids as the main energy reserve in Drosophila, and their physiological level and metabolism were shown to be under the control of AKH. AKH abundance in the body resulted in lower levels of triacylglycerols and diacylglycerols than in the controls, probably due to a more intensive metabolism; interestingly, there was a disproportional representation of fatty acids in triacylglycerols and diacylglycerols in Drosophila. Lower level of glycogen and its partial control by AKH suggest its lesser role as the storage substance. However, maintenance of free carbohydrate level in Drosophila seemed to be critical; when glycogen stores are exhausted, carbohydrates are synthesized from other sources. Protein levels and their alterations, under starvation, did not seem controlled by AKH. AKH-deficient flies were more resistant while AKH-abundant flies were more sensitive to starvation; females were found to be more resistant than males, regardless of the AKH level, probably due to higher body mass and higher amount of nutrients. However, in accordance with the level of all nutrients, that of AKH also gradually decreased with prolonged starvation
Úloha adipokinetického hormonu v metabolismu základních živin u octomilky obecné \kur{Drosophila melanogaster}
KUTHANOVÁ, Michaela
The aim of the thesis was evaluation of various metabolic characteristics in the fruit flies Drosophila melanogaster with deficiency of adipokinetic hormone (AKH) production, and with adenosine receptor dysfunction. The experiments were done with a goal to evaluate involment of AKH and adenosine into control of the metabolic pathways. For that measuring of basic nutrients, level of Drome-AKH, mortality and some others characteristics in the fruit flies during starvation were performed. Results revealed the effect of AKH on metabolism of storage nutrients, however, the role of adenosine was unclear.

Kuthanová, Michaela ; Svatoň, Vladimír (advisor) ; Vojtěch, Daniel (referee) ; Ulbrechtová, Helena (referee)
Metamorphosis of Space Models of space in the Czech and Russian lyrical poetry of the late 19th and early 20th century The work deals with the representation of space in lyrical poetry by artistic imagery. Based on the analysis of the texts of the decadent poets I. Annensky, V. Bryusov, K. Hlaváček, O. Březina describes their individual models of space.
Role adipokinetic hormone in fruit fly \kur{Drosophila melanogaster}
KUTHANOVÁ, Michaela
The aim of the thesis was evaluation of the adipokinetic hormone (AKH) effect on the fruit flies Drosophila melanogaster with AKH production deficiency, and adenosine receptor dysfunction. A nutrition level was measured in those flies to evaluate involvement of AKH and adenosine into the metabolic pathways. Results revealed that application of external Drome-AKH significantly increased the free glycide level in the fly bodies. On the other hand only limited effect of hormonal treatment on other nutrients (lipids, proteins) was recorded. The role of adenosine was unclear, but its involvement cannot be excluded.
Analysis of financial statements and their interaction with the selected entity
KUTHANOVÁ, Michaela
The goal of this thesis was to perform the accounts analyses, to analyze the achieved results and to suggest changes to improve the position in a specific accounting unit. The issue concerned the Taconova Production s. r. o. company and its accounting statements within the years 2006 to 2011. The first part of the theory deals with final accounts and describes the accounting entry. The second part of the theory deals with financial analysis and methods, economic indicators and information value. The methodology precedes practical part and it is crucial for understanding the analysis outcomes. It describes particular indicators used in evaluation of the company situation. The practical part of this thesis deals with financial statements and their analysis and subsequently with financial analysis. The financial analysis includes some known and used indicators. The final chapter of the practical part includes results and proposed solutions to improve the position of the company.
