Multi-purpose Building, Jana Babaka, Brno
Kolářová, Eva ; Jelínek, Petr (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
Project's goal is to test the large buildings' design options in regards to permanently sustainable construction. The author's aim is to design energy efficient multipurpose building, with minimal negative effects on environment. The positive impact on environment is visible on the preference of natural materials used in construction. External constructions of thermal conductivity coefficient at the level of passive standard are designed using objects of renewable energy. The location in Brno has been chosen for the proposed building, specifically the location known as brownfields. Lot is accessible from the street of Jan Babak, where public transport is available. The shape of the lot is in the form of incomplete oval with internal open atrium. The administrative part of the building takes half of the area with the rest of the area being used for other businesses, such as fitness centre and restaurant. Garages are proposed to be located underneath the main building, which is built on rigid structure. This rigid structure is a steel skeleton one with linked ceilings. The foundation of building is on stilt. The roof is of a flat type with variable slope, its structure and slope are of metal construction. Claddings are designed in the form of wooden structure filled with straw bales, the exterior is thermally insulated using fibreboard thermal insulation. Inner tract facade is proposed to be panelled with wooden planks. Photovoltaic panels will be placed both from the south and southeast of the outer oval. The rest of the facade will be panelled with grate for creepers. Only environment-friendly sources of energy are considered for the proposed building. Heating and cooling is based on the heat pump air-water system; using the rainwater as an example of renewing natural energy. The surroundings of the building are designed as meadows for of infiltration of rainwater. The proposed building has been assessed in terms of environmental sustainabilit
Climbing Centre Vertikal in Brno
Maršálková, Martina ; Kolářová, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design a climbing hall with nearly zero energy consumption located on a small brownfield at Brno-Královo pole. The thesis has three parts: The first part presents architectural and structural designs at the level of concept documentation for building permit application. It is a four-storey building with a rectangular plan, flat green roof and a external wall made of stainless steel sandwich panels. The internal space is divided into a climbing area, technical facilities, changing rooms and wellness area. The structural system is a precast reinforced concrete frame with a roof structure made of BSH solid wall trusses. In the second part the design of the technical systems of the building is presented. Ventilation and cooling of the building is provided by three ventilation units. Heating is provided by floor heating and radiators. The heat is supplied from a local district heating grid via a heat exchanger. In the third part, CFD simulations were applied to design and assess natural and forced ventilation in terms of thermal comfort, air change effectiveness, and age of air. Within the ventilation analysis, it was demonstrated that mechanical ventilation brings significant advantages in terms of thermal comfort, air quality, and air change effectiveness compared to natural ventilation. The project documentation was prepared in AutoCad software. Simulation and analysis of natural and forced ventilation was performed in CFD software DesignBuilder.

Apartment building
Obozhenyuk, Darya ; Kolářová, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The main focus of the bachelor thesis was the development of complete project documentation for an apartment building that meets demanding requirements for energy efficiency. The building is located on the outskirts of the village of Ivančice and is located on land with parcel number 900/1. The building has an irregular rectangular shape. The apartment building has two above-ground and one underground floors. In the underground floor there are various cellars, garages and a technical room. The first and second floors include a total of eight residential units, four 3+kk apartments and four 2+kk apartments. The foundations are made of monolithic belts made of plain concrete. The construction of the underground floor is made of monolithic reinforced concrete, while the other perimeter walls are made of HELUZ ceramic blocks. To increase thermal insulation, contact insulation made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) boards was used, and the ceilings are made of reinforced concrete. The roof is designed as flat. An elevator is installed in the apartment building for easy and convenient access between floors. The staircase is made as a monolithic reinforced concrete slab.
Apartment building

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the preparation of project documentation for the construction of a residential building. The residential building is located in the northeastern part of Karviná in area designated for mass housing. The land for the new building of the apartment house is flat and undeveloped. The residential building is designed as a detached building with three floors and a partial basement. There are 5 residential units and 1 design office. The whole building is covered with a flat roof. There are 8 parking spaces on the west side. Vertical load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures are made of ceramic Porotherm blocks, in the basement the perimeter structures are made of monolithic reinforced concrete. Horizontal load-bearing structures are monolithic reinforced concrete 230 mm thick, reinforced according to the static calculation. The perimeter masonry will be insulated using the ETICS contact insulation system with a thickness of 160 mm. The balconies are formed using ISO - beams made of reinforced concrete slab. The staircase is chosen as a two-legged staircase to overcome the height levels. The following programs were used to prepare the project documentation: ArchiCAD 25, DEKSOFT, Building Design, Hluk +, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
Fitness center design with minimal environmental impact
Kučera, Matěj ; Kolářová, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design and project documentation of a fitness center. The designed building is situated in the centre of Brno in a busy environment with a direct connection to the city ring road. It is a two-storey non-basement building with a flat green roof. The building is based on a combination of plain concrete strip foundations, reinforced concrete slabs and pads. The load bearing, external and partition walls are designed from the aerated concrete blocks. The outer skin consists of thermal insulation, slats and vertical garden flowerpots. The floor structure is predominantly designed from pre-stressed concrete panels. Facade is ventilated. The building is divided into two floors where each has its own purpose and specification. In the 1st floor there is a gym, room for trainers, dressing rooms and utility room. In upper tract there are exercise rooms and cardio zone. The building is designed as wheelchair accessible. Around the building there is designed a car park for 24 cars with grass paving and a medium-sized trees. The second part of the thesis environmentally deals with the building services. The building will be heated by four heat pumps and will also use energy from photovoltaic panels. Air exchange and cooling will be solved using air conditioning. Third part of the thesis deals with the evaluation by certificate of energy performance of the building comparing the used heating method with the use of fossil fuels. The thesis is mainly elaborated in Autocad, SketchUP, Deksoft, Lumion and Microsoft office software.
