Integration of the second generation of Vietnameese children in Prague
Prušvicová, Alena ; Janská, Eva (advisor) ; Kocourek, Jiří (referee)
The main purpose of the thesis is a characterisation of 1,5. and the second generation of Vietnamese children and their integration to the Czech society by the example of primary schooling in Prague. Children of foreigners usually face many changes as a result of their integration process. Therefore, the project does not focus on integration and its mechanisms only, but also on its factors (economic activity of parents, the proximity of the Vietnamese community, education or language) as well as the related effects, such as health of Vietnamese children. The thesis consists of both theoretical and practical part. The former deals with a literature survey primarily. In the practical part, there are two main sources of own research: questionnaire survey and interviews. The thesis is focused just on the representative district of Prague 4 (and its representative basic school) where the majority of Vietnamese foreigners living in Prague is concentrated. Keywords Immigration, integration, 1,5. generation, 2. generation, Vietnamese.
Seismic monitoring of fluid contacts from horizontal wells
Janská, Eva ; Vilhelm, Jan (advisor) ; Fischer, Tomáš (referee)
When producing oil from a thin layer with a gas cap, gas is generally unwanted since the reservoir looses pressure. The pressure loss might cause the fluid vertical migration and therefore a misplacement of the horizontal production well. This is the main reason why the oil production is held back when a gas breakthrough occurs. The well is chocked, or run on lower production rates, until the oil column is recovered, but it is not known how long this will take. If the gas-oil contact could be monitored over time, then the gas breakthrough could be better prevented by reducing production from a particular well branch or even by blinding a specific part of the branch. The aim of this research is to test if monitoring of the gas-oil contact by a seismic acquisition inside the horizontal well is feasible. This could be done much cheaper, more often and with better repeatability than classical 4D seismic. The feasibility was investigated on 2D Troll subsurface models, using finitedifference acoustic modelling. Receivers are planned in the horizontal part of the production well and suggesting the best source position was one of objectives. The influence of variations in geological settings was also investigated. The most accurate information about the gas-oil contact shape and its distance from the well is...
Identity of the greek minority and its transnational activities in the CR
Hluchá, Zuzana ; Janská, Eva (advisor) ; Seidlová, Markéta (referee)
The main content of this Thesis is to assess the situation of the Greek minority in the territory of the Czech Republic in the context of its arrival, settlement and integration to the major society. The aim is to assess the current situation of the minority and its transnational activities. The Greek minority in our country is numerically stable and fully integrated into the main society. The typical feature of minority is the identification with other members of minority trough their organizations and also through the internal identification with the country of their origin (namely Greece), by the traditional culture, history, cuisine and language. The Thesis is divided into eight parts that are relevant to understanding the problems of Greek minority in our country in the context of involuntary emigration from war torn Greece in the 1950's. The methods used in this thesis were the secondary analyses and the field research (the questionnaire survey). The simple statistical methods were used to gain final result. Key worlds: Greek minority, migration, identity, transnational, diaspora.
From assimilation to integration. The example of new integration policies.
Přidalová, Ivana ; Janská, Eva (advisor) ; Seidlová, Markéta (referee)
Presented bachelor thesis deals with the evolution of migration policies of France from the classical assimilationist model to the concept of civic integration of foreigners of today. The first part of the work introduces basic terms connected to migration and integration policy, theories and concepts concerned with migration and integration of immigrants into the majority society. The second part is dedicated to the models of migration policies and to the examples of countries executing these policies. This part also describes a common shift in migration policies of immigration countries towards the new model of civic integration. The third part provides an introduction to the context of migration history of France with accent to immigration in the 20th century and then mentions migration and integration policies formerly and nowadays. By this, it demonstrates the shift of Frech migration policies in accordance to the common trend in immigration countries.
Comparison of population development in the US and Canada
Mošna, Pavel ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Janská, Eva (referee)
Population development in the USA and Canada was essentialy changed. Fertility increase caused "Baby Boom" in both countries. A strong cohort formed during "Baby Boom has strong impact on population development up to these days. A following social changes prompt drop of fertility rates. Drop in fertility rates together with constatnt improving of life expectancy caused aging of population, a serious problem. The population development is also influenced by high numbers of immigrants. Despite many similar factors, which affect development in both countries, it is possible to find essential differences. Disparities in population development are growing.
