Possibilities of removal of selected estrogens from water using
Maršálková, Eliška ; Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Endo, Valentina ; Godoy Alonso, Paula ; Jančula, Daniel
Advanced wastewater treatment technologies are focused on removal of micropolutants such as pharmaceuticals, estrogen disrupting compounds etc. To protect public health it is not possible to stop using pharmaceuticals, but it is necessary to find environmental friendly technologies which can remove or reducce these compounds. So called green technology and ferrates belongs to this treatment. It was found that estrogenes are reduced/removed from wastewater with different efficiency by common processes as it is shown in this paper. Processes using vegetative treatment and activated sludge treatment are compared. Results of estrogen removal by zerovalent iron and hexavalent iron are introduced.
Manipulation with flow rates in water bodies - the possibilities for inhibition of cyanobacterial blooms development
Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Šejnohová, Lenka ; Vinklárková, Darina ; Plotěný, Miroslav ; Jančula, Daniel
If we compare the sediment capping by active barriers to protect the phosphorus release from sediments with other technologies of manipulation with methods of water discharge, it is clear, that by well-considered manipulations with water discharge, it is possible to reach the same (comparable) results with lower costs and with lower ecotoxicological and limnological risks. By the manipulation of water level, it is possible to reduce cyanobacterial bloom development as supplemental or supporting measure, but the effects may differ in different water bodies and thus it must be consulted always with specialists.
Elimination toxins of cyanobacteria
Jančula, Daniel ; Blahová, L. ; Maršálek, Blahoslav
Phthalocyanine molecules which are able to degrade microcystins - toxins, have been discovered.
Practical experience with the management of cyanobacterial water blooms
Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Jančula, Daniel ; Maršálková, Eliška ; Vinklárková, Darina
Article introduce the Centre for cyanobacteria and their toxins as an organisation with practical experince with the management of cyanobacterial water blooms in Czech republic as well as in foreing countries.
Evaluation of eight biodegradable algicides
Jančula, Daniel ; Maršálek, Blahoslav
The aim of this study was to compare the efficiency of biodegradable algicides towards laboratory cultures of algae and cyanobacteria. Toxicological effects of algicides were aslo studied on green alga Cladophora glomerata. Acording to our findings, it is necessary to regulate laboratory conditions to conditions in real ecosystem were treatment atgainst green algae should be done.
Database of methods, techniques and compouns for reduction of cyanobacterial blooms
Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Jedličková, B. ; Feldmanová, Marie ; Jančula, Daniel ; Maršálková, Eliška ; Drábková, Michaela
The aim of the study was to inform about internet database that will summarize the methods, techniques and compounds potentially used for reduction of cyanobacterial blooms.
Compounds for reduction of cyanobacterial blooms
Jančula, Daniel ; Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Drábková, Michaela
This work focus on possibilities how to reduce cyanobacterial blooms by ecological compounds with emphases on biodegradable algicides, natural products, coagulants and biological preparations for reduction of nutrients in sediment. Their ecological implications and utilisation for water bodies is discussed too.
Reduction of planktonic cynobacterial blooms: summarization of methods
Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Drábková, Michaela ; Maršálková, Eliška ; Feldmanová, Marie ; Jančula, Daniel
The aim of this work is to sumarize methods and procedures how to eliminate cyanobacterial blooms in reservoirs. The first part of the work is focused on nutrient polution and possibilities how to reduce it. The second part deal with the nutrient reduction on the inflow of water to the reservoir and the thirth part deal with methods and procedures in reservoir water body. Discussed is mainly: coagulation of cyanobacteria, reduction of nutrient concentration by bilogical agents, use of algicides, biomanipulation, physical methods etc.
