This bachelor thesis deals with the system of selecting and evaluating suppliers in the construction industry. The first part of the theory pursues the function of purchase, the process of purchase and the materials strategies. There are described the factors which influence the whole purchase process. The other part deals with the system of selecting the suppliers and the strategy of supplier-subscriber relations. In the last part of this theory there are described the criteria for evaluating the suppliers and the methodics of their evaluation. In the practical part there is shown the theoretical knowledge then transmitted into the practice. The whole process of purchase of a company P a P okno stav, s.r.o. is being described there, the way of its selecting and evaluating the suppliers. The conclusion of this part is a suggestion of the supplier selection and evaluation suppliers in the company P a P okno stav, s.r.o.

The practical part is a collection of several purchasing activities presenting the advantages of long-term relationships with suppliers customers. Preference is assessed on the basis of time and financial savings.
