Its aim is to describe and analyze the quality of life of patients in different periods of illness. Evaluation of somatic area was carried out by the UW-QOL questionnaire, value aspects were determined using the method SEIQoL. Title: A person with hearing impairment as a patient The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis introduces basic notions related to the acousticequilibrium apparatus, characterizes hearing diagnostics, describes types and levels of hearing impediments, explains communication means of people with hearing impairments, presents assistive devices for them, elucidates personality of these people and outlines care of patients with hearing impairment in hospitals. The empirical part is based on a questionnaire investigation among hearing impaired persons of age over 18 years old. It is aimed at mapping of type and level of their hearing loss, communication means used in daily life, at the general practitioner and in hospitals. The questionnaire examines if the people with hearing impairments understand written messages or need an interpreter and what experience they have with hospital stays. The questionnaire for medical workers with high school education or university degree traces their experience with nursing of hearing disabled, if they are aware of interpreting service possibilities for these patients, how they perceive communication with people with hearing impairments, and if the nurses welcome new information on this area. Children with cochlear implantans: parental perspective

This Bachelor paper concerns cochlear implants in children. The theoretical part aims to clarify the whole procedure of cochlear implantation, focusing on criteria for selecting appropriate candidates, the pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation and the quality of life of a child with the implant. This part also focuses on the postimplantation care in terms of special pedagogy and speech therapy. The empirical part evaluates the parental perspective of a child with a cochlear implant. The subjects of the evaluation are parents of deaf children with the cochlear implant.

Personal development and life prospects of children with hearing disorders My bachelory work is divided in two parts - theoretical and empirical. In theoretical part basic definitions, types of hearing disorders and defects and diagnoses of children's hearing are described. In the next part, I inform about the compensatory aids for people with hearing disorders and ways of their comunication. I also write in my thesis about personalities of these people, care of them and thein integration into society. The empirical part presents results of research, which was carried out on the basis of interviews. It is focused on interests and hobbies of children with hearing probléme, their ability to communicate and possibilities for profession choice . The work also maps their free time.
