Dobešová, Petra ; Šebek, Milan (advisor) ; Šebková, Natálie (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Title: Physiotherapy in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis Abstract: This bachelor thesis is consisting of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is consisting of the basics of neuroanatomy needed to understand the disease, pathophysiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and clarify the term motor neuron disease. Then is the ALS described in more details, talks about its history, epidemiology, aetiology, diagnosis, clinical manifestation, classification, treatment and palliative care in patients with ALS. In terms of physiotherapy is first described the course of physiotherapy in the 6 stages of ALS. Subsequently, specific physiotherapeutic techniques are described, which are used in therapy with a justification of what we can influence with their help. The described techniques are respiratory physiotherapy, active exercise, dynamic neuromuscular stabilization, passive exercise and the possibility of influencing pain through physiotherapy. The practical part is consisting of an information brochure for patients with ALS in the 1st and 2nd stage of the disease and a case report of a patient in the late phase of ALS. The brochure is containing basic information about the disease and the possibilities of movement and exercise with the...
Protein domains utilizable for development of binding molecules
Dobešová, Petra ; Malý, Petr (advisor) ; Veverka, Václav (referee)
Small protein domains represent basic building blocks of naturally occurring proteins. Many of them exhibit excellent stability, lack disulfide bonds and their structures, therefore, represent attractive tools for generation of artificial binding molecules. First step in the production of novel binding proteins is the definition of a basic domain structure, called "scaffold", which is identified using in silico approaches, resulting in discovery of mutable amino acid residues. Then, randomization of such residues leads to design of a highly complex combinatorial library as a key tool for targeted selection of protein variants. Based on chosen selection approach, the particular protein variants can be tested for their ability to recognize the target molecule with high specificity and binding affinity. Small binding proteins lack post-translation modifications, exhibit thermal stability, are resistant to many organic solvents and can be produced on a mass scale in bacterial host cells. In addition, they can be easily modified and used in vivo with excellent tissue penetration. Due to these beneficial properties, small artificial binding proteins are extraordinary useful biotechnological tools and represent a promising alternative to monoclonal antibodies. The aim of this work is to summarize our knowledge on...
Helena Třeštíková's time-collecting documentary films in the context of sociology
Dobešová, Petra ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Hájek, Martin (referee)
Beyond reviewing Helena Třeštíková's most known movies and an outline of history of documentary film on a global scale and in Czech context1 , thesis deals with a style of time- collecting method in documentary films by Helena Třeštíková, with specifics of her method and requirements of her films. The aim is to comprehensively cover this topic, with the large space provided, due to the sociological potential, to theme in the social sciences still current - the questions of "truth", objective approach and reflections from various authors, theorists and filmmakers. Through the compilation of books and articles by film theorists, reviews and countless articles and interviews in the film and non-film press provides a discussion of the time-collecting document, its roots, traits and contexts, which continues in describing the specifics of Třeštíková's methods and finally, as the already mentioned, most famous works. Based on primary, secondary and tertiary sources, analysis and interpretation of visual and printed material, the thesis is a combination of review (provides a guide to understanding for those who meet the time-collecting topic for the first time) and critical approach (contributes to the existing theoretical discourse). 1 Both of these sections are inserted in the annex in order to not...
Free hugs - Sociological interpretation
Dobešová, Petra ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Kotík, Michal (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Free Hugs - A sociological interpretation" gives an interpretation of the phenomenon called Free Hugs - offering hugs to strangers on the street. The basic question behind the early work was the following problem: What happens in a society, where people are willing to offer hugs to strangers in the street? What kind of pressure operates on people? What is causing this pressure? The goal of the work is to interpret the characteristics of modern society, which most importantly affect the atmosphere that makes ordinary people create their sign saying "Free Hugs" and go into the streets. The text is divided into three chapters. The first provides the first insight into the topic and a brief excursion into the short history of the phenomenon. The second, major chapter deals with the sociological interpretation of the original motivation leading to the emergence of the described phenomena - advanced level of individualization in modern society and economization and fragmentation of relationships, both in work and private spheres. The third part deals with the sociological interpretation of several phenomena, which caused a significant extension of the Free Hugs Campaign. The relevant requirements of the modern phenomenon of the Free Hugs consider a general picture of modern society,...
