The use of nitrous oxide to increase the performance parameters of an SI engine
Dobeš, Tomáš ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This scientific article focuses on the use of nitrous oxide as an additive to fuel for improving the performance parameters of a spark-ignition engine. The results of experiments show that adding nitrous oxide to the fuel-air mixture can improve combustion and thus the performance of the engine. The benefits include increased power, reduced nitrogen oxide emissions, and improved combustion efficiency. However, it is also necessary to consider possible negative effects, such as increased nitrogen oxide formation at high temperatures. Overall, the use of nitrous oxide as an additive to fuel can bring significant improvements in the performance of a spark-ignition engine if used with caution and in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines
