Woman and The Witches' Sabbath
Hlaváčová, Kateřina ; Dluhoš, Marek (advisor) ; Kostičová, Zuzana (referee)
This bachelor thesis follows the development of the myth of Sabbath as it was created by Christian demonologists in the last centuries of the Middle Ages. It tries to trace its mythical roots and influences of older pre-Christian traditions. It begins with medieval theories of conspiracy which caused the persecution of lepers in France at the beginning of the 14th century and ends with great European hunters, whose justification was based on the belief in the mysterious witches gathering. I assume from the thesis of the Italian historian Carlo Ginzburg, who considered the Witches Sabbath to be transformed idea of the conspiracy of lepers, on which were grafted demonized pagan motives and the new conception of the devil, which crystallized at the end of the Middle Ages. I also try to interpret the motives of the Sabbath as the projections of the social taboos, which had in the centre figure of woman. From this perspective, I evaluate the figure of the devil, who became the shadow of the society at that time.

On the basis of an analysis of available sources, and their historical, criminologically focused processing, there is examined a hypothesis that criminality represented by the thieves in law creates in its fight against the society a specific form of self-defence. Part of the work being also an answer to a question to what extent today's division into old and new vors is topical, and whether this world has modernized in permanent relation to the environment surrounding it. The author proceeds in his analysis from the role of the thief in law as the individuality acting in constant tension with the society to the characterization of the thieves in law and to relations by which they are connected. Dluhoš, Marek ; Nosek, Bedřich (advisor) ; Nakonečný, Milan (referee) ; Weis, Martin (referee)
Marek Dluhoš Kabalistická teurgie Cabalistic theurgy Cabalistic theurgy is a composition of the Hebrew word cabala (meaning 'tradition') and the Greek word theurgy (involving deities and processes, which transpire in God). The thesis is based on the most relevant research in this field in our region, which was undertaken in the time of pre-war Czechoslovakia and the beginning of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Dr. Jan Kefer (1906-1941) found the juncture between cabala and theurgy in the theory of sefirotic tree and the mutual influence between the worlds of spirit and matter.
