The History of Knihopis of Czech and Slovak printed books

This master thesis studies the history of the retrospective bibliography, "Knihopis českých a slovenských tisků" (Knihopis of Czech and Slovak printed books). It introduces printed and electronic versions of the bibliography including the newest Knihopis development when it was incorporated online at Knihověda.cz. The archival research method and compilation from the literature was used to map the oldest bibliography period. The bibliographic database portal Knihověda.cz, which Knihopis is part of, is compared to foreign sources USTC and VD 17 from an User experience (UX) point of view. The criteria set up to compare the bibliographic databases are user focus, design, and accessibility. The final part of the thesis summarizes the research findings.

The role of the Czech National Library in regional and world digitisation and its activities in digitalisation from ½ 90s of 20th century up to date

The bachelor thesis summarizes the history of activities of the National Library of the Czech Republic in digitization and its participation on international and national projects for digitization. This work does not just focus on these projects, but also on Albertina icome Ltd., and briefly describes the government programs of the Ministry of Culture VISK (Public Information Library Services), which are an integral part of the digitization of the National Library. The thesis also deals with the role of the National Library of the Czech Republic in European and global environment. The projects and the status of the National Library are briefly evaluated by the author of the thesis. Her opinions, drawn from the current situation of the project, are also presented. Furthermore, the author deals with the possible future development of digitization. The work's time range is set from the mid 1990's to the present.
