Vaccination Schedule - The Past, Prezent, and Future
Němcová, Monika ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
Vaccination is one possible means to prevent the emergence and spread of many infectious diseases, and even though we now consider it obvious, it has been one of the most significant discoveries in the history of medicine. Thanks to vaccination, smallpox has been eradicated worldwide and polio has disappeared in many countries. Yet even today, millions of people are dying around the world, who could have been saved by vaccination. Fortunately, the Czech Republic has had a long history of vaccination programs, with the first vaccination dated back to 1821 when an Imperial decree ordered a vaccination against smallpox. In 1960 the Czech Republic became one of the first countries in the world which had eliminated the polio virus. Therefore, I have chosen as the theme of my BA diploma work, the topic 'Vaccination Schedule - The Past, Present and Future'. The thesis is divided into several chapters, with one being a summary relating to immunity and the immune system, with types of vaccines and individual vaccinations being included in routine vaccinations. Individual diseases are not sorted alphabetically, but by the time they were included in the vaccination calendar. Each disease is briefly described by its characteristics, clinical features, incidence, disease history and vaccination options. The work also...
Changes in the strategy of regular vaccination of children in the Czech Republic
Mančušková, Magdalena ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
The topic of his thesis "The changes in the strategy of routine vaccinations in children in the Czech Republic" I chosen based on their interest in this issue and the enormous importance of vaccination and its alignment with the requirements of the World Health Organization as a vaccination strategy The European Union. Vaccination, or if active immunization , represents the most significant and most efficient form Primary prevention of infectious diseases. The world is vaccinated against one or diseases more than 80% of children. It is estimated that this procedure is avoided approximately 3 million deaths each year . In the countries of Western and Central Europe and North America are deaths from polio , measles, tetanus , diphtheria has ever recorded. It is estimated that the Czech Republic would have died without vaccination each year about 500 children and thousands more children would undergone complications of disease is often irreversible . The occurrence of a wide range of infectious diseases in our population was reduced to the minimum ( rubella , mumps ) other infectious diseases has even eliminating them ( poliomyelitis diphtheria , measles ) . This favorable epidemiological situation is primarily affected long term regular vaccination of children in the Czech Republic and consistent control...
Malaria: the global challenge
Nicholson, Ashley ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
More than half the world's population is at risk from malaria, with up to 500 million cases each year and more than one million deaths directly resulting from the disease. Those at highest risk from the disease are people living in endemic areas, travelers to endemic areas, small children and pregnant women. Malaria is a constant risk to the overall health of the global population. Treatment of malaria depends on the species of infecting parasite, the area where the infection was acquired and its drug resistance status, the clinical status of the patient, any co-morbidities, pregnancy, drug allergies or other medications taken by the patient. Proper treatment of malaria will shorten its duration, prevent complications and help to avoid the majority of deaths. Currently the best available treatment is a combination of drugs known as artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs). This therapy works rapidly and has little or no resistance to date. In order to protect against the development we must combine drugs with different mechanisms of action against the same stages of the parasite. Malaria prevention includes vector control, chemoprophylaxis use and the future possibility of vaccine use. Vector control is achieved with the use of insecticide treated mosquito nets and indoor residual spraying of...

Infectious agents causing-cancers
Olos, Tomáš ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
Cancer is one of the most serious problems of clinical medicine. At present, the cause of death of every fifth citizen of the CR and the incidence is rising. This civilization disease affects an extra lower age range. Compared to the past, this is mainly due to the fundamentally different composition of food that contains a preponderance of sugars and fats, but also stress and contamination of environmental substances with carcinogenic effect. Unsuitable diet and carcinogens present in the water, air and food cause the forming jednolivých higher number of tumor cells than the natural organism. The immune system may be weakened by stress and pollutants, it is not able to adequately respond to this situation. For the greatest amount of recovered material, I have most dealt with the issue of hepatocellular carcinoma and its relationship to hepatitis B an Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
