Analysis and enhancements design of the business intelligence subsystem.
Buchlák, Peter ; Král, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Richta, Karel (referee)
A great number of organizations realize the need to search for and collect the data, which are very useful for obtaining the information that simplifies the key business decisions. From that reason comes it nowadays to the development in a field called Business Intelligence (BI). BI is a complement of processes, technologies and tools that enable to transform company's data to actionable business information useful for particular actions, promotion of the business decisions and improvement of the running of the company. BI combines the ideas and processes from the business world and using algorithms and techniques for managing of the data and transformation of this data into useful information. The goal of this master thesis is to extend the existing information system by BI subsystem and thereby support the decision making of management and improve company's competitive edge. There is necessary to analyze of important data and processes in company, chose the proper architecture, make a design and implementation of BI subsystem. The main output of this work is the prototype implementation of BI subsystem named UESBI which will be sequentially deployed and progressively extend by additional functions.

Create a database of classifications from heterogeneous sources in an XML
Fiala, Petr ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Buchlák, Peter (referee)
The inquiry focuses on figuring out a way of creating a look-up-table database from data in XML files. Date standards created by office workers are generated into different XML files, which are described by XSD scheme.. Therefore one look-up-table corresponds to one file. Further on, it is necessary to save the data into a single database. Firstly the possible options for solutions are described, i.e. researching the possible ways of loading XML data into a database. Later on, for the most appropriate method, with regard to the conditions of the solutions and the characteristics of the task, the solution is then proposed and implemented. The final result is a functional method, which meets all the requirements of the task, together with a user manual and relevant documentation. Finally, the problems of implementation and other options for improvement of the solution are discussed.
Information system for primary and secondary schools
Kormaňák, Tomáš ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Buchlák, Peter (referee)
The subject of this project is to develop an information system for recording study achievements of primary and secondary school students with an online access for their parents. In the first part, the author focuses on a survey of current supply of similar applications already on the market and their properties, with a priority look at the way how they are provided. In the second part the author drafts and develops a new and simple information system, which can compete with other rough applications. Emphasis is given to the simplicity of the application as well as its usage. This application is designed to be provided as 'Software as a service' and therefore is easy to employ.
