Multicultural education in English Language Classes at middle school level
BOROVIČKOVÁ, Klára
In my Diploma Thesis I focused on teaching Multicultural education which is one of cross-curricular themes in ``Rámcový vzdělávací program``. In the theoretical part, I described the structure of ``Rámcový vzdělávací program`` and dealt with Multicultural education and its position in the Czech society in detail. In the practical part, I tried to compare two middle schools on the basis of a survey carried out with the directors and teachers of English. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out whether the teachers use Multicultural education in their English classes. Furthermore, I prepared three lesson plans and taught the lessons accordingly. I put to use Multicultural education in these lessons and finally I reflected on the lessons I taught. The aims of the Diploma Thesis are to find out whether it is common to see members of ethnical minorities at schools and to compare ideas of teachers about Multicultural education. Another aim is to provide exemplary lesson plans or suggestions how to deal with Multicultural education teaching in English classes.
