Aplt, Daniel ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Suk, Pavel (referee)
This diploma thesis, "The propagation of communistic ideas in Czechoslovak cultural periodicals 1945 - 1948", analyzes the way in which cultural-political weekly periodicals entered the public sphere in Czechoslovakia during the years 1945 - 1948, or the period between the end of the Second World War and the installation of the monopoly of political power by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (Komunistická strana Československa - KSČ). Those three postwar years determined the future form of the restored Czechoslovakian state. This paper's research is based on the weekly periodicals Tvorba and Kulturní politika. Both of these magazines were, concerning their political profile, close to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The KSČ became the most powerful subject in the Czechoslovak political system during the postwar period. This diploma thesis describes the form of propagation of communism at the ideological level and as a means to support concrete political steps by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. This work is above all an analysis of tendentious texts in the cultural-political weekly periodicals Tvorba and Kulturní politika in relation to historical moments that came about during the observed period, in both Czechoslovak politics and the international system. The main task of this diploma...

Güttnerová, Karolína ; Končelík, Jakub (advisor) ; Aplt, Daniel (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the different picture of the political process with the "anti - state conspiracy center" headed by R. Slánský in the academic literature and press. The aim of the thesis is to compare the picture from the academic introduction as the historical event and the picture from the contemporary press. This will describe the functioning of the censorship and propaganda in the contemporary media. I have based the detailed insight into the nature of the preparation and realization of the process on archival materials and other sources, which illustrate the key political decisions and which demonstrate their, in accordance with the intentions of the propaganda, distorted reflection on selected daily newspapers. The quantitative content method has been used in the practical part as a research method. Through this method, articles from the contemporary press are processed. Through the evaluation of the research, clear conclusions have been reached. Those conclusions have been used in order to compare the picture of the process in the academic literature and in the censored daily press. The main contribution of this work is the fact that it brings the insight into the mechanism of the management and control of media in the early 50's of the 20th century, in connection with the...

Pražáková, Hana ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Aplt, Daniel (referee)
The bachelor thesis Periodical Press in the Kolín Region during the period 1945-1948 focuses on the changes of the structure of periodical press in the Kolín region after the Second World War. The first part of the thesis describes the geographic and demographic characteristics of the Kolín region, which helps to create a complex picture of the Kolín region in the first half of the twentieth century. In the second part, the thesis describes the periodical press in the Kolín region before 1945. The Kolín region had already been rich in periodical press in the second half of nineteenth century. In the period of the First Republic, the most significant part of the press structure was the press of political parties, second to that, were the periodicals of non-political organizations such as Sokol or tourists. During the Second Republic and especially during the Second World War the gradual cessation of regional press resulted in the complete destruction of its structure. In the third part of the thesis, the situation in the Kolín region after Second World War is described. The press of the left wing political parties was renewed and the press of non-political organizations stayed, however due to the lack of paper, never recovered. The events of February 1948 changed the structure of periodical press in the...
