Is everyone capable of providing first aid?
Bartáková, Lenka ; Šamánková, Marie (advisor) ; Špunda, Jan (referee)
The objective of this paper is to find standard of knowledges about providing first aid in common people. Since I found out, that question of first aid doesn't appeal to people and they don't know the most fundamental elements of first aid, I decided to do research on this subject and to find whether cases which I met are solitary or are usual by majority of inhibitants. And subsequently to devise possibilities to improve standart knowledge of first aid. The collection of data was led through technology of questionaire, whích I distributed in to the different types of public, so that result would have the biggest value. The questions concerned an experience of people with first aid and their information about this problem. The questions were formulated as close with possibility of selection from two or more answers, half-closed questions and open questions where the respondents completed with their job and telephone number for ZZS. The advantage of this collection of data was a contact with respondents and possibility of discussion. Majority of respondents wanted to know, where they made mistakes and why their answer wasn't correct. 300 questionnaires were distributed and 216 was completed. The results of investigation are supporting fact, that public don't show any concern about first aid and therefore...

Křížová, Pavlína ; Šamánková, Marie (advisor) ; Česal, Pavel (referee)
The aim of the work was to ascertain the level of aweareness of the population of the Czech Republic about hospices and hospice services and also their interest in hospices. This work contains a general, brief overview of the terms relating to dying, death, palliative and hospice care and the history of hospices in our country and the world. Furthermore it contains an overview and description of the individual working hospice buildings within the territory of the Czech Republic together with a mention of the projects for and building of new Czech hospices. An inseparable part of each hospice are the volunteers, thus their irreplaceable significance for the activities and running of all hospices is also described in this work. For the running of the practical part of this research investigation the obtaining and evaluation of at least 200 questionnaires (this work contains 201 of them) was required from respondents of over 18 years of age from over the whole of the Czech Republic. The evaluation of these questionnaires often produced surprising results concerning the precise degree of informity and public interest in hospices. It was established that close to a majority of respondents knew what a hospice was whereas somewhat fewer could define the concept of a hospice. The public also grasped the importance...

Trunk ortheses and their application in the treatment of scoliosis
Čáková, Marcela ; Šamánková, Marie (advisor) ; Vyskočil, Tomáš (referee)
People with the spinal column deformity are first time mentioned already in the times of ancient civilizations, about 3500 years' BC. Those people were mostly proscribed from the common society. Hippocrates was the first who described scoliosis as an illness. The scoliosis is a pathological space curvature of the spine to right or left side in the frontal plane. It is very often accompanied with the rotation of vertebras. Structural scoliosis is a fixed lateral (sideway) curve of the spine. It is conditioned by structural changes of the vertebras body, its rotation and the vertebras parts asymmetry. Nonstructural scoliosis hasn't got anatomical basis of its origin in the spine itself. The vertebras aren't deformed. It's caused by underlying condition such as difference in leg length. Treatment of scoliosis is often provided by conservative methods such as body brace and rehabilitation. If there is a high progression of scoliosis curve - an operative treatment is indicated. I've made a survey in the subject of "spinal braces and their use in scoliosis treatment." I've been visiting a working place where the spinal braces are made. They allowed me to communicate with patients. I've prepared a questionnaire which included seventeen questions. Thanks to it I've discovered that most of the respondents are women...
