Solution technology of multiple groove pulley
Šťastný, Daniel ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This essay discusses the production technology of multiple-grooved pulley from two different semi-products. It evaluates the technology of construction, selection of semi-products and their materials, selection of instruments and machines for individual operations with regards to semiproduct. At the end it also presents an economic evaluation for a batch.
Leak test of the high pressure pump part
Šťastný, Daniel ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This essay discusses actual situation and method for high pressure pump part testing. Here are possibilities for moving of high pressure leakage test on test benches used for pump functional test. Savings and costs plus return on investment are calculated for testing process change.
Effect of caffeine on maximal strength of the complex exercises
Šťastný, Daniel ; Třebický, Vít (advisor) ; Petr, Miroslav (referee)
Title: Effect of caffeine on maximal strength of the complex exercises Objectives: The main aim of this theses is to investigate caffeine's effect on the maximum strength of the deadlift exercise. The sub-objectives of the thesis are to test whether the magnitude of the effect of caffeine differs between the upper half of the body compared to the lower half, and also whether caffeine has an effect on the production of maximal strength after insufficient rest. Methods: The randomized double-blind study consisted of 1 baseline and 2 experimental sessions . At the start of the experimental sessions, participants were given either caffeine (3 mg/kg) or placebo 60 min before testing. In a randomized order, maximal isometric strength with sufficient rest between reps was measured for the deadlift (IMT) and benchpress (IBP) exercises. Subsequently, maximal isometric strength was measured for the isometric mid-thigh (IMTP) exercise after insufficient rest. A total of 36 healthy resistance-trained men habituated to caffeine consumption participated in this study Results: RM ANOVA showed that caffeine increased performance at IMT, compared to placebo (d = 0.229 [0.61, 0.397]), but not compared to baseline. For the IBP exercise, caffeine has no effect compared to placebo, but baseline session was...
Optimal conditions of caffeine use and its effect on sports performance
Šťastný, Daniel ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Petr, Miroslav (referee)
Title: Optimal conditions of caffeine use and its effect on sports performance Objectives: Based on current scientific knowledge, summarize the effect of caffeine on various aspects of sports performance, and also to determine the optimal conditions for the use of this substance to maximize the ergogenic effect. Methods: Systematic literary research Results: The ideal dose of caffeine to improve athletic performance is in the range of 3- 6 mg/kg, and most preferably in the form of tablets 60 minutes before exercise. This substance has been shown to improve aerobic endurance performance, sprint speed and cognitive function such as accuracy and attention in athletes. Caffeine in trained individuals may also improve anaerobic endurance, maximum and endurance strength, simple reaction time and other cognitive functions, but further studies are needed. . Keywords: sport, supplementation, aspects of performance, conditions of use, stimulation, alkaloids
Eseje o ekonomii a managementu: Aplikace behaviorálních věd v organizacích
Houdek, Petr ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Belás, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šťastný, Daniel (referee)
The thesis consists of four conceptual articles focused on application of theories and findings of behavioral economics and behavioral ethics in the sphere of managerial science (What Comes to a Manager's Mind: Theory of Local Thinking; A Perspective on Consumers 3.0: They Are Not Better Decision-Makers Than Previous Generations; Professional Identity and Dishonest Behavior; Puppet Master: Possible Influence of Parasite Toxoplasma gondii on Managers and Employees). The thesis contains introductory unifying commentary that deals with the replication crisis in management science and then speculates on the possibilities of behavioral organization economics. Introductory commentary contains also a summary of the main ideas presented in the conceptual articles and complementary empirical studies listed in the Appendix.

Optimization of test programs diesel injection pumps
Jirka, Lukáš ; Šťastný, Daniel (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
Bachelor thesis "Optimization of test programs injection pumps of diesel engines" is focused on the process of testing of proper function the high-pressure injection pumps CP3. This pump is an integral part of the system Common Rail and is one of the main products of the Bosch Diesel Jihlava company. The thesis in the first part deals with the presentation of the pump itself, and presents detailed description of the functional testing on the test station of assembly line. The second part is closely connected with the analysis of data which were collected during functional testing of each type of CP3 pumps. Following options are designed to reduce the length of test programs, making it possible to reduce the workload of test stations of assembly line.

application of prospect theory on poker players
Ludvík, Tomáš ; Šťastný, Daniel (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
Based on previous works on application of prospect theory this paper try a similar procedure to prove the truth of prospect theory for poker players. Data are collected from online poker casino Pokerstars within a few days. These data, however, are not entirely opportune to test prospect theory, since it can not accurately determine the reference point for prospect theory. Looseness measurements confirmed findings of prospect theory. Players are risk seeking for loss and risk aversion for profit. This effect is more noticeable in losses than in equally high profits. And also players are feeling more actual losses and gains than earlier losses and gains. Measurement of aggression also confirmed prospect theory but are not significant. This may be due to the way aggression is measured, because players can simply substitute the aggressive actions by calling, which can also increase the risk. Also this paper fail to demonstrate that the most risk averse players can turn pritable after loss, which results in increased risk.
Zipf's law for cities: Is Zipf exponent correlated with level of freedom?
Šindelář, Jakub ; Šťastný, Daniel (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
This master thesis contains three independent papers on the Zip's law for cities. In the first essay I summarize accumulated knowledge and use examples from the Czech Republic to show problems of the empirical research. The main findings of this essay are: City size distribution in the Czech Republic can be better described by a log-normal distribution than by a Pareto distribution; Pareto exponents are sensitive to sample selection. The second essay is the largest empirical cross-country study on Zipf's law for cites. The mean value for 157 countries is 0.919. The comparison with the study by Soo (2005) showed a decreasing tendency of the Pareto exponent, since for the same countries, the average exponent decreased from 1.11 to 1.02. One possible explanation of this trend is the process of urbanization. The last essay looks at the topic from a different angle. I have developed an agent based model to describe the process of suburbanization and cities merging and its impact on the size of the Pareto exponent. I have shown that when cities merge, the exponent starts to fall down from a steady state.
