Reflective simulation of patients-in-bed movement
Gargulák, Jan ; Říha, Antonín (referee) ; Kindler, Evžen (advisor)
The work at first proposes ideas of the nested and external simulation. The external simulation works with the model M and the nested simulation work with the model N. The external simulation always calls nested simulation so that the nested model N is initialized according to the state of the external model M and then the nested experiment is performed. Its result can influence the state of the external model. The reflective simulation is a special case of the nested simulation when the external and the nested models are identical or almost identical. We describe how to implement reflective simulation in Simula language. Using this knowledge, we implement reflective simulation of patients-in-bed movement in Simula language. The resulting fully functional program clearly demonstrates properties of the reflective simulation.
Versatile O/R database manager
Plonka, Jan ; Říha, Antonín (referee) ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a tool for the O/R databases administration. It places emphasis on maintainability, univerzality and extensibility of the solution. Without a need of installation, using web browser, it is possible to administrate remote databases from client workstation. The tool is easily extensible to support a new DBMS as well as a new object type within existing DBMS. The tool is intented for interactive schema management.
Benefits of object-relational technology
Paľo, Martin ; Říha, Antonín (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
Lately, object-relational databases have become increasingly popular. Compared to the traditional approach, they provide many new possibilities. This thesis describes the general requirements on object- relationaJ systems and the new object-relationaJ enhancement of Oracle, as well as similar enhancements of other well-known database systems and their comparison with the SQL: 1999 database standard requirements. An essentia1 part of this thesis is concerned with the comparison of the relational and object-relational in1pJementation of the student information system using the Oracle 9i database server.
