Bachelor thesis
VONDRUŠKOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to create a survey of characteristics of pork meat quality including pH45, pH24, colour, water holding capacity, texture, intramuscular fat content and influences that affect the meat quality, i.e. breed, sex, slaughter weight, nutrition and feed, stabling technology, treatment, transport to the slaughterhouse, method of stunning and way of slaughter. The meat quality is also conditioned by the chemical composition, physical and technological features of the meat and process of postmortal biochemical changes. Animal handling leads to the quality variations of pork meat.

Microclimatic conditions in train, public city transport and long distance transport driver´s cabins
VÍT, Zbyněk
In my paper I´ve intended to collect theoretical knowledge of the issue of microclimatic conditions in the workplace and it´s impact on health and performance of the worker with the scope to workplaces ? cabins of train, city public transport and long distance transport drivers. I have proceeded from legally binding regulations. In the theoretical part I have described particular requirements and limits of factors affecting the quality of the inner workplace environment. After the theoretical part I have dealt with the practical part where I have proceeded from measurements which I have attended personally. I have completed my own measurements with the results of other measurement records elaborated by State Health Institute in Prague. Perspective measurements were interesting due to the ways technical devices were working and set to provide optimum microclimatic conditions in workplace. The largest measurement results were those from electric train units, known in our railway transport system as ?Pendolino?. While in the workplaces of engine drivers the set year-long inner environment limits have been mainly implemented, in the driver workplaces of public city and long distance transport, summer outside conditions had an impact on significant worsening of the microclimatic conditions ? a big temperature load on drivers, which is impossible to be eliminated without financially demanding measures.

Processing grower fundamentls for herdsman area with degradation physical and chemical parameter soil (with specification at the marginal area Šumava)
LENCOVÁ, Daniela
Permanent grass overgrowth holds a great importance in the Czech Republic's agriculture. It's functions in the landscape are mostly anti-erosive and landscape-creating. In comparison to other European countries, the ploughed area in the Czech Republic is larger. Therefore it is possible to expect an increase in the overall dimension of the ploughed area, which brings a necessity of land management. An insufficient level of used pratotechnical actions can cause a shift in the effects of grazing on the environment - from the positive to the negative. An excessive straining of herbage linked to the absence of needed interventions leads to a degradation of physical and chemical attributes of the soil. The problem that appears the most is treading out the grass sod, compacting the soil and beginning of the erosive processes. Overlooking this serious frame leads to total devaluation of the land. Therefore adopting and consistent keeping of comprehensive collection of pratotechnical actions, that lead to gradual make up and elimination of the negative effects of the grazing on the land, is vital. This thesis deals with processing the collection of pratotechnical actions, on the basis of realized links between the type of grazing system and evaluated physical and chemical parameters of soils, in two-model areas {--} grazing area Ostřice and grazing area Jenín-Babín.

The evaluation of horse nutrition with chosen preparats in sommer and winter season
HANETŠLÉGROVÁ, Petra
ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to provide a detailed breakdown of horse nutrition, to mention the importance of dietary supplements. The main part deals with the basics of horse nutrition, the bare necessities of nutrients, the proportion of maintenance rations and the technique of feeding. Afterwards, I outline the properties and effects of varied herbal plants such as garlic, hemp, hyssop, white horehound, coltsfoot and oats. Flaxseed, biotin, zinc, yeast and probiotics are dietary supplements improving the quality of fur, horsehair and hoofs. The feed will be analysed by standard methods. As far as horse excrement is concerned, we are going to observe its shape, colour, consistency, pH value and smell. The assessment of horse excrement will serve as a judgement about the activity of digestive system. The ethology observations will provide information on daily activity of a horse, on particular activities, to which the horse gives its attention during a day, and the amount of time it dedicates to them. As far as horses with respiratory disorders are concerned, we will observe the signs of their health problems and the rate of these problems occurring both at rest and in action. The information will be completed by the measurement of body proportions useful to body weight calculation. The statistical and economic methods will be selected in terms of the results accomplished during the research.

Vliv tranzitní krmné dávky a délky stání na sucho na užitkovost dojnic
Čermáková, Jana
The aim of this doctoral thesis was to investigate the effects of dry period length and type of diet through dry and transition periods on feed intake, lactation performance, health status and reproduction of high-yielding dairy cows. The experiment was conducted with 29 high-yielding dairy cows which were divided into two groups. The control group (C; n=14) was assigned to a traditional dry period of approximately 60 d (57 +- 5.9 d) and was fed a far-off dry cow ration from dry-off until 21 d prepartum. From d 21 until calving, the cows were switched to a pre-calving ration containing an additional 3 kg of concentrates. The cows of experimental group (S; n=15) were assigned to a shortened dry period (35 +- 6.3 d) and were continuously fed a late-lactation diet until calving. After calving, both groups were fed the same lactation diet corresponding to their lactation requirements. Dry matter intake of the cows assigned to a shortened dry period and fed a late-lactation diet (17.1 kg/cow/d) was approximately 4.11 kg per cow/d greater compared with the control group (13.0 kg/cow/d) through 60 d prepartum (P=0.0004). After calving, however, the average dry matter intake was approximately 0.71 kg per cow/d higher in the control group (21.48 kg/cow/d (C) vs. 20.77 kg/cow/d (S); P>0.05). Cows with a shortened dry period produced approximately 3.34 kg/d (8.3%) less milk and had flatter lactation curves during the first 100 d of lactation. Through standardized lactation (305 days) cows produced in the average 10 583 kg (C) and 9 638 kg (S) of milk. No differences were observed in live body weight, body condition score or back-fat thickness between the treatments. Shortening the dry period and feeding a late-lactation diet increased the concentrations of VFA and decreased the rumen pH (P<0.05). No differences were observed in basic parameters of blood and rumen fluid after calving. The insemination interval of the cows with shortened dry period was in the average about 34 days shorter compared with conventional dry period (S 64.67 d vs. C 99.11; P=0.007). Shortening the dry period did not affect the colostrum quality or birth weights of the calves.

Cultivation of hops (Humulus lupulus L.) and its use
KORCOVÁ, Žaneta
Hop differs from other agricultural plants in view of the fact that it is a perennial plant. It can grow at one site up to 20 years. There are three recognized hop production areas in the Czech Republic such as Žatecko, Úštecko and Tršice. The quality of the cones is high mainly due to the range of plant variety and also due to the favourable environmental conditions. Hop cultivation technology was already explored a long time ago, and therefore the new resources are rarely available and also widely scattered. The aim of this thesis is to describe the hops cultivation technology and its food and non-food utilization. This work includes botanical characteristics, farming techniques, fertilization, and protection against pests, harvest and post-harvest treatment. Furthermore there is description of the influence of agricultural engineering or fertilization on quality of hops. This bachelors thesis also depicts food and non-food use of hops.

It was demonstrated greater suitability of food grain storage in silos unlike the hall and loft storage .

Possibilities, methods and technological processes of composting biomass
KOPAČKA, Michal
Nowadays maintained areas of greenery are an inseparable part of towns and villages. Public property belonging to the town České Budějovice is necessary to keep also. Problems arise with processing and storing biomass. One possibility of processing biomass is composting. Methods, technological processes and last but not least functional variants of composting components were developed in this paper. The composting components will ensure quality and maximum flexibility of produced compost. The projected technological line will ensure enough capacity for composting biomass in the years to come. The economic evaluation made showed that produced variants of compost are competitive.

Influence of different process of farming on permanent meadow
SEJPKOVÁ, Jana
Researched topic is to asses the influence of different proces of farming on permanent grassland (livestock grazing vegetation, mowing, various agronomic measures). The goal is to realize and make a proposal that farming on permanent grassland is more profitable, what is the best quality forage biomass and what effect it may have on foragestand composition. The use of grassland farming activities is necessary because grasslands are one of the major components of feed base for livestocks as well as participate in some non-productive functions of agriculture. If there is no farming on grassland, there would be a succession and consequently climax forest condition. It is also important to respect the potential of natural habitat, conserving agroecosystem biodiversity and minimize the negative impact of civilization on the environment.
