Viniculture and wine-production from the legal point of view

The title of the thesis is "Viniculture and winemaking from the perspective of law". It analyses viniculture and winemaking not only from the perspective of the Czech law, but also the law of the European Union. It is necessary to involve the European law because it is a basic element of wine law in all wine-producing member states including Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to give a complex insight into the current vinicultural and winemaking law, considering the history of both disciplines and the history of their legislation. The thesis is divided into six chapters which are logically arranged from historical tracts to legal issues. The first chapter declares that the Czech wine law is not an isolated branch of law; on the contrary it is an elemental part of agricultural law. Relationship with other legislation (both public and private) is also described in this part of the thesis. The second chapter briefly informs about the Czech history of viniculture and winemaking. It covers the era from the twelfth to the twenty-first century. The next chapter also concerns history, but unlike the previous chapter it focuses on the evolution of Czech wine law.
