Project Lebensborn, its causes and consequences
Disha, Alena ; Dočkal, Jan (advisor) ; Mašát, Vladimír (referee)
1 Summary This bachelor thesis deals with the Lebensborn project, its causes and consequences. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the Lebensborn project as part of the concept of so-called racial hygiene in Nazi Germany, to analyze the causes that led to its origin, its course and its consequences. At the same time, this work will try to answer two questions. Why the racist regime achieved such "successes" exactly in Germany? How could h it justify "racial hygiene" projects and, in particular, the Lebensborn project? In order to provide answers to these questions, the work deals with the analysis of several societal levels at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century in Germany and Europe, which played an important role in its creation. At the end of the thesis it assesses the topic of current racism, its risks for present day and deals with possible forms of its prevention in the Czech Republic. Keywords Lebensborn, racism, racial hygiene.
