Objectives are the judging of preconditions and the evaluation of the potential of the iron curtain in tourism and to other activities of Heritage Tourism and Dark Tourism and the finding out of the potencial readiness for the participation of inhabitans in the czech republic on these activities.

Criminal activity releated to the use of illegal drugs
NOVÁK, Martin
In my thesis I deal with illegal drug use leading to criminality. Drug abuse has been a debated issue recently because drugs are omnipresent in our society. Illegal drug use has been a serious problem worldwide. Due to its geographical location, shortly after 1989 and after the fall of the Iron Curtain the Czech Republic has become both a transit and a destination country for all sorts of drugs within a short time. The objective of my thesis is to examine, describe and analyse the overall criminality in the Prague area in 2005 {--} 2007. The other concern of my research was to determine the drug addicts´ contribution in proportion to the overall criminality. I set three hypotheses: H I : The most common drug addicts´criminal activity is theft. H II : Most drug addicted criminal offenders are male. H III : The most common drug being abused is pervitin. The thesis is divided into two parts {--} theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the development of the drug scene in the Czech Republic and crimes committed by drug addicts are described. I also give information on detection, investigation and criminal sanctions in criminality caused by drug addicts. I gathered the data from specialist literature. In the practical part I used the technique of the secondary statistical data analysis. I analysed the statistical data from 2005 {--} 2007 obtained from the Police of the Czech Republic Headquarters. The research was conducted by the quantitative questionnaire method and the data obtained were analysed. The data were put into charts and diagrams. All the hypotheses suggested were confirmed. The objective of my thesis was accomplished.

The development of cross-border cooperation of the Region of South Bohemia, the Free State of Bavaria, Upper and Lower Austria with a focus on Strategy for removal of consequences of the Iron Curtain.
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Hana
The author of the bachelor thesis is going to handle with the development of the Region of South Bohemia, Free State of Bavaria and Upper and Lower Austria cross-border cooperation. The thesis concerns general problematic of cross-border cooperation, its historic development in the frame of the respective timeframe, concerning period from the year 1948 up to nowadays, further the projects administrated by the Region of South Bohemia and its neighbouring regions as well as the planning projects, not yet implemented. Introduction of The Strategy for Removing The Impacts of The Iron Curtain in the separate chapter enables deeper insight into the strategy as well as into its future utilization. Moreover, the author made questionnaire research among the citizens living in the border towns of the Region of South Bohemia that might feel the impacts of the iron curtain the most. In the conclusion of the thesis the author creates conclusions from the carried research and confirms or disputed the assumption of the thesis.

The Historic Landscape Elements Analysis
KOTEK, Jiří
The two most important reasons of partial depopulation of the right shore of the Lipno dam were the transfer of Germans after the World War II and the Iron Curtain establishment in 1950s. Inhabitants were turn out from borderland, local villages were largely destroyed, meadows and pastures have been wasted for decades and they are under secondary succession. Although a lot of villages were destroyed, we can identify it by plants whose occurrence is closely associated with existence of resident enclaves (fruit tree species, nonforest green vegetation, woody ornamentals). The aim of this work is to describe these plants species, locate their position and judge changes in the time.

The Analysis of land-use changes in Šumava foothills
KOTEK, Jiří
The Svatý Tomáš Highlands and the Trojmezí Highlands in the Šumava foothills were constantly settled during 13th century. Although this area is a borderland with a less favourable climate, agriculture had a significant influence on the landscape changes. However political and economic changes during the 1950´s, especially the establishment of the Iron Curtain, had impacted previous trends. Displacement of inhabitans, destruction of villages and inaccessibility of the area have restored the natural processes. The aim of this work is to describe changes of land use in The Šumava foothills with regard to nature protection and results evaluated by geographic information system technologies. From stable cadastre maps it was detected, that land use in 1st half of 19th century in the Šumava foothills was very varied, it was there existed a lot of small fields of arable soil. However the surface of arable soil diminished gradually during the time and at the present time don´t exist any more in the study area. In monitored areas in the first place grew the share of forests. The changes of management also had an impact on the size of succession areas. It was found, that changes in land use are very similar in the all monitored regions.

Development of land use in the central part of the Bohemian Forest in the context of socio-political changes
FLUKSOVÁ, Hana
This thesis deals with the evaluation of land cover changes in twelve cadastral areas in the central part of the Bohemian Forest. This area was gradually abandoned due to political changes in the 20th century. For the purpose of this study, the historical Stabile Cadastre maps from 1837 and aerial photographs from 1949 and 2008 are used. The work follows both the development of the area as a whole and the development of the individual segments around the "Iron Curtain ", built after the World War II. Another aim of this work is to determine the spatial distribution of trees in an open countryside. Field data are supplemented with the features calculated from the digital elevation model and the distances of each species to man-made landscape elements present in the area around the time of displacement (aerial photos from 1949).

Research March 1947 ÚVVM: Clothes, the Iron Curtain, Germans, life of the young, foreign broadcast. B 53, B 53
Ústav pro výzkum veřejného mínění
Research was initiated by the Industry Department, Ministry of Home Trade, Association of the Young and other institutions. Respondents answer where they buy clothes and how long it will last, whether listen to foreign broadcast and if young people live better than previous generations. Several questions relate to international relations - the Iron Curtain and the democratization of Germany.

Stabilization of the natural landscape in Bohemian Forest frontier area (Czech Republic/Germany) abandoned for 40 years
Kučera, Tomáš ; Guth, J.
Land cover and its development is an object of study in applied landscape ecology and landscape conservation. Historical aerial photos are the basic data source for studies of long-term landscape development. All of the data can be analysed by the use of geographical information systems, GIS. GIS IDRISI is recommended for academic and nature conservation purposes, because of its powerful tools for spatial pattern (landscape structure) evaluation, user-friendliness and low price.Own case study is located in the borderland along the former "Iron Curtain". After the landscape was abandoned, the processes of "desynanthropisation" started. In the Bohemian Forest Mts. in SW Bohemia, (i) patch size and shape were evaluated and (ii) spatial pattern was characterised by various indices: diversity, fragmentation, contagion, etc. Land cover development is presented in a special triangular "landcovergram". The changes of indices are closely, but not simply, related to the intensity of human influence (management). Two types of local differences are important: the original situation ("the starting point") and both the quality and quantity of postsynanthropic management. Two main developments of landscape structure have occured in the upper floodplains near the Bohemian/Bavarian borderline: (i) the managed parcels were homogenised, and at the same time, (ii) wetlands were abondoned within their natural borders.

Zemědělské příhraniční oblasti v Moravskoslezském kraji: sociální a ekonomické změny po roce 1990
Martinát, Stanislav
The border regions are areas of countries, where the possibility of common development is influenced and made difficult by existence of the state borders. The barrier effect of this border was strongly strengthened and development of those areas limited during the period of socialism. In those times the development of rural border areas of this region was not perceived as priority despite their location along borders with socialistic Poland. In context of central planned economy and contemporary political decisions it meant constantly increasing level of marginality for these rural border areas. Their one-sided orientation on state supported farming (also in sub-mountain and mountain natural condition in spite of unfavorable natural condition) should in future give rise to social, demographic and economic problems in these areas. This situation can not be of course compared to situation in border region along the iron curtain at those times, however truth is that studied rural border regions faces complicated period of adaptation to new economic conditions after 1989. There appeared new possibilities for development – alternative farming, development of tourism, enterpreneurship, cross border cooperation etc. On the other hand shift from central planned economy to market economy brought along problems (crisis of traditional industrial branches and traditional agriculture as well). It meant loss of working opportunities for local population that can not be compensated by offer of local entrepreneurs. Social consequence of this process is unemployment. Rural border areas started to be spatially differentiated after 1989. Different natural, social, economic conditions lead to different development of these rural areas.

Illegal Migration and the Czech Republic after 1989 from the Police Forces Point of View
MAN, Tomáš
In this disertation I deal with the problem of illegal migration in our country after the year 1989 from the Police forces point of view. I try to compare streams of migration from the historical aspect {--} which is represented by beginning or fall of iron curtain and evaluace the situation after the entry to the European Union. Next I want to analyze the phenomenon of illegal migration in the frame of graduate spreading of the Schengen Area a I try to resume stats of the illegal migration from The Czech Statistical Office and Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. That is way I want to refer to that illegal migrants we can allure to the final state by legal way when we use unitary and synoptical imigration laws and cooperation with the third countries.
