Products with Protected Designations of the European Union and Their Position in Regional Tourism
Licková, Kamila ; Kalábová, Markéta (advisor) ; Abrhám, Josef (referee)
The master thesis deals with products with protected designations of the European Union. The main objective of the master thesis is to evaluate the importance of the chosen product with protected designation of the EU in regional tourism and analyse the perception of the product by a producer and by tourists. The sub-objective is the description of the European system of food labelling. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first part explains basic concepts which are related to the thesis. The second chapter introduces the best known food quality labels. Greater attention is devoted to the description of the food protection system of the EU. The third chapter deals with the characteristics of the chosen region Beskydy-Wallachia. The second part of this chapter is focused on the chosen protected product Štramberské uši. The forth chapter includes a structured interview with the chosen producer of Štramberské uši and a survey research, which was conducted in two phases. The last chapter contains the evaluation of the implemented survey. The main finding of this thesis is the fact that a relatively high percentage of respondents know the product Štramberské uši. An interesting finding is the fact that only a small portion of them know that the product Štramberské uši is the holder of the protected designation of the European Union. The chosen producer of Štramberské uši sees the main benefit of the label in greater publicity. Among problems he ranks the enforceability of the label and lack of general promotion of Štramberské uši.

Helminths of the European otter
Seemannová, Kateřina ; Vadlejch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lukáš, Lukáš (referee)
The target of this study was to explore a distribution and prevalence of parasitic helmints in population of wild European otters in the Czech Republic. For this purpose organization ALKA wildlife o.p.s. provided 15 cadavers of these animals. This gained experimental material was consequently subjected to a detailed parasitical examination. All examinations and analises were made in the parazitical laboratory of Department of Zoology and Fishers, Faculty of Agrobiology, food and natural resources in Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. The discovered parazitic organisms were subsequently isolated and determined. This autopsy showed the occurrence of parasitic flukes of genus Metorchis. Prevalence was counted 13.33 % (two positive samples from all fifteen samples). In the first sample, there were found 17 flukes, in the second sample, there were found 11 flukes. The place of discovery of this samples was southern Bohemia. The occurence of other expected representers of tapeworms, roundworms and acanthocephala were not confirmed. Results can be disorted because of low number of examined biological material. But getting bigger amount of material is a problem because the European otters are protected by law. The results show that in population of wild European otters occur parasitic flukes of genus Metorchis. Since this is the first mention of their occurrence in the Czech Republic, it would be appropriate to study this issue from now to get more results that would be more exact.

Rosela breeding species in European Climate Conditions
Hanzlíková, Dana ; Zita, Lukáš (advisor) ; Ledvinka, Zdeněk (referee)
Summary The bachelor thesis focuses on breeding of rosellas. The genus Rosella belongs to the family Psittaculidae and to the order Psittaciformes. The first part of the thesis deals with rosella´s wildlife. Rosellas are Australian endemics, they can be found in rainforests, sclerophyl and savannah forests. As a result of human influence on changing their environment, they adapted to the agricultural landscape. The nesting biology is similar for all genus. The breeding season starts in spring when males court females. Couples choose hollows inside trees for nesting, the most frequently in the eucalyptus near to a water source. Only the female sits on eggs, the male takes care of her for the whole time. Both parents take care of hatched nestlings. In the next part, there is discussed the issue of rosella´s nutrition. The correct feeding is important for parrot´s comfort and health. The composition of the appropriate feed is derived from their natural food. In the next part, there are summarized current knowledge of breeding rosella. It is recommended to breed only one couple of rosellas, not to combine them with other species at all because of aggressive behaviour of this genus. The breeding in outdoor aviaries is perfect for rosellas in human care. They need enough space for flying. The reproduction is suitably supported by the outdoor environment. Most species are adapted to the European climatic conditions and tolerate cold periods. They will be satisfied with the shelter which is not needed to be heated and where they can hide from frost, rain and wind. Rosellas love water, they should have a bowl for this purpose. Mostly they nest without comlications, the problem can come with creating a suitable breeding pair. Rosellas are not too demanding in the case of nesting boxes. The next part highlights the importance of hygiene and disease prevention. There are mentioned the most common diseases and ways to take care of sick parrots. The representatives of the genus rosella are characterized in the last part of the thesis. The thesis concentrates on the western rosella and other less common species.

The Big Clean: Cleaning up Data as Well as the Relationship with our Government
Zijlstra, Ton
In this key-note I will touch upon how the new European Open Data Strategy, the work (local) government across Europe are doing to open up data, and screen-scraping, data refining and data journalism, all tie in together to allow us new ways to interact and build connections with our government.

Characterization of Fine Particles by Aerosol Mass Spectrometer at the Prague Suburban Site During Summer and Winter Season
Vodička, Petr ; Makeš, Otakar ; Schwarz, Jaroslav
The increasing interest in the role of aerosols in the atmosphere leads to a growing need to their measurements in the environment. For this reasons, the detailed studies of aerosols were also included into the existing European project ACTRIS (www.actris.net). One of the ACTRIS part is the coordinated long-term measurement of aerosol chemistry both with Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitors (ACSM) (Ng et al., 2011) and by other types of Aerosol Mass Spectrometers (AMS) (Canagaratna et al., 2007). The measurement network includes many background stations (including urban background sites) all over Europe (http://www.psi.ch/acsm-stations/acsm-and-emep-stations). One of the participating stations was also an urban background site in Prague. This paper presents preliminary results characterizing the fine aerosol at this site during two intensive (summer and winter) measurement campaigns.
