Air Quality in the Indoor Environment of Libraries and Archives
Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří
The aim of this study is to investigate concentrations and sources of airborne PM and gaseous pollutants in the indoor environment of the archives, and to establish the relationship between the indoor and outdoor environment. In 2012 the measurements take place at Zlatá Koruna and Třeboň and in 2013 at Osek and Prague. The results indicated outdoor air as the most probable source of particles in the indoor environment of archives at Zlatá Koruna and Třeboň. The penetration of particles at Třeboň was higher than at Zlatá Koruna. These results were confirmed by measurements of ventilation rate, which was at Třeboň almost ten times higher than at Zlatá Koruna.

Convexity in stochastic programming model with indicators of ecological stability
Houda, Michal
We develop an optimization model dealing with construction expenses that are prescribed as a result of the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) process. The process is an obligatory part of every large construction project and evaluates possible influences of the project to the environment, including population health, natural and other socio-economic aspects; the result of the process is a set of recommendation and arrangements the construction must meet. Our optimization model incorporates uncertainties in model parameters; we represent them through their probabilistic distribution. Furthermore, to overcome a problem with quantifying subjective utility function of ecological impacts, we measure them by so-called indicators of ecological stability. The resulting problem is stochastic programming problem formulated as (C)VaR model used traditionally in finance area. In our contribution we deal with convexity properties of this problem – these are especially important from the theoretical as well as from the computational point of view.

Public Opinion on Environmentally Friendly Behaviour - May 2012
Tabery, Paulína
In May 2012 Public Opinion Research Centre asked questions about environment. People were inquired about their activities in environment protection. We also investigated, if Czechs are interested in information about the environment and have enough of this kind of information.

The Play of Present Preschool children in the Village and in the Town
NOVÁČKOVÁ, Marcela
This bachelor thesis deals with the games of preschool children in the village and of the games of children in the city. In the first part of this work, the game is characterized, a reflection of the children?s surrounding environment in the game, development characteristics of the preschool age and games and toys at this time period. The second part of the thesis contains a researched investigation carried out on the nurseries and observation of the preschool children living in the village and in the city at the present time. Interview and observation have been utilized as examination methods. A part of this section is a detailed description and comparison of the games occurring in the village and in the city. From the researched investigation it can be concluded that the games in both environments are similar, however, in the monitored group of children, the village children have showed more fantasy and cooperation than the urban children.

Methodology to rodent species density monitoring in forest environment
Homolka, Miloslav ; Zejda, Jan ; Heroldová, Marta ; Kamler, Jiří
This methodology provides us with instruction how to monitor rodent densities in forest environment and is concentrated on the species causing damage to broad-leaved forest plantings. Principle presumption for effective plantings protection control is to know rodent’s population density. Basic ecological informations about the target species are also included. This methodology book contribute to better understanding of young tree damage origin in broader connections and contribute to more effective input on damage prevention. Methodology is addressed above all to forest practices workers.

Vibrational communication of subterranean rodents
HROUZKOVÁ, Ema
This PhD. thesis focuses on the vibrational communication of subterranean mammals, in particular, vocal communication of bathyergids (Heliophobius argenteocinereus, Fukomys mechowii, Fukomys darlingi) and seismic communication of Tachyoryctes. We recorded and analyzed the vocalization of three species and discussed the physical parameters of their vocalization in relationship to the special underground acoustic environment. Moreover, social systems of African mole-rats range from solitary to eusocial and thus our results enabled us to discuss the influence of sociality on vocal repertoire richness and its composition. Long distance communication possesses many challenges in underground environments; the only effective mean is seismic communication. We described for the first time seismic signaling in Tachyoryctes and proposed its function.

Cyberbullying seen as one of origins of endangerment of primary and secondary school children
ANTONŮ, Monika
The aim of my thesis is to collect information enabling to assess the risks of communication on social platforms for primary and secondry school pupils. The teoretical part is focused on the bullying and cyberbullyin in general. This part discusses the impact of media, computers, social platforms etc. on the lifestyle od teenagers. Furthermore, the issues of virtual reality and impact of social networks on pupils and teenagers during their school attendance are described. The thesis considers the specific problems of virtual environment, virtual identity and the safe use of internet as well. The aim of the practical part is to find, how do the pupils perceive communication via internet and social networks: whether they realize the dangers and how are they able to criticize it. The practical research of my thesis observes the extent to which have the pupils been cyberbullied or bullied and how are they aware of it.

Traditional Type in the Digital Era
Weinzettelová, Silvia ; Gray, Simon (advisor)
The first part of this paper briefly reviews the history of typography and the ways how the traditional typefaces had been modified in order to ensure high readability and legibility. Semiotics of type, as well as the importance of positive emotional response to UI and UX, are discussed in the second part, highlighting the important patterns in the user’s comprehension and emotional responses. In the third place, the shift towards the “mobile first” approach is emphasized, and the importance of adopting the appropriate methods and techniques which would ensure the optimal representation on information on small screen handheld devices is justified; the problems caused by type scaling and reading patterns, screen resolution, pixel representation, and backlit environment are identified. Furthermore, the optimal characteristics of screen fonts are explained. Last but not least, the present and future of typography on small screens is discussed.

Response of animal cells to the extract, obtained from the colony matrix of Pectinatella magnifica
ŠUSTEROVÁ, Karolína
The aim of this thesis was to determine whether colonies freshwater bryozoans Pectinatella magnifica produce biologically active substances. On the basis of knowledge of the course of the growth curves of cell culture mouse fibroblasts were developed models for biological assays to determine the biological potential of substances contained in the extract of lyophilisate colonies of P. magnifica. Tests demonstrated the presence of substances with biological activity. Next part of this work was also survey the occurrence and distribution of the reference type to Vltavotýnsku, including the monitoring of basic parameters of the aquatic environment. It was explored in two years (2012 and 2013) repeated a total of 10 sites on rivers Vltava and Lužnice, the incidence was detected at 5 locations .
