Seismic Design of Structural Steel Connections
Sotulář, Jiří ; Šabatka,, Lubomír (referee) ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Hron, Lukáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the analysis and standard check of structural steel connections subjected to seismic loads. Analysis is based on a software solution and standard check is performed according to standard requirements and formulas. The first part deals with the theory of seismic load. There are described the general knowledges about the earthquake and the method of determining the effects of seismic loading on buildings according to the EN 1998-1. In the second part of the thesis is made design and check seismically loaded multi-storey steel building. Design is based on recommendations of the EN 1998-1 and some recommendations of research. In the third part is the analysis, verification and check of steel joints, which are contained in the structure designed in the second part of the thesis. On the basis results of analyses of indivudual connections are defined recommendations and requirements for the use and design structural steel connections subjected to seismic loads.

Nonlinear dynamic analysis of structures with seismic loads
Navrátilová, Martina ; Nevařil, Aleš (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
Diploma thesis compares the methods for the calculation of the response of structures with seismic loads. Linear and nonlinear analyses are used for the calculations. In the case of linear analysis response spectrum method is applied. For nonlinear analysis pushover method is used. These two methods are compared in programs AxisVM and RFEM on the examples of high-rise building and space frame.

Dynamic analysis of structure loaded seismic loads
Havlíková, Ivana ; Nevařil,, Aleš (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
The purpose of my master’s thesis is the solution steel hall with concrete columns, that is loaded by an earthquake. This simulation program was used RFEM. To calculate was used the spectral and temporal analysis, and that on models of structures with several combinations of materials. The analysis was performed for both the general direction of the earthquake, so for combinations of directions according to standard procedures in EC8.

Dynamic analysis of lightweight bridge construction
Krzywoň, Filip ; Nevařil, Aleš (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
The thesis compares the dynamic response of lightweight footbridge structure. Two finite element models were made. One in Ansys 15.0 software, and another in RFEM 5.05 structural software. The results of the models were compared to each other. The response to dynamic excitation from pedestrians was evaluated in accordance to ČSN EN 1990/A2.

Posouzení stability stanic CROPOS po sérii zemětřesení Petrinja 2020–2021
Šugar, Danijel ; Blagus, Luka ; Bačíć, Željko
The wider area of the town of Petrinja along with the region of Banija in North-Western Croatia was hit by the earthquake series in December 2020. The series started with the M5.2 earthquake on 28 December 2020 and continued the day after with the mainshock being of M6.4 causing 7 human casualties and huge damage to buildings and infrastructure. That earthquake was felt are reported by humans more than 600 km away from the epicenter. CROPOS as a permanent GNSS network at the time of the earthquake series consisted of 33 stations installed on the Croatian territory among which the SISA station was the closest one to the epicentral area. Static daily observation files from the SISA station along with data from its 6 surrounding stations were processed and results were analyzed to assess their stability and possible permanent displacement. The dataset timeframe consisted of five days before the earthquake series and five days after the mainshock. In that time window (12 days) occurred numerous quakes, 5 of them having M ≥ 4.5. Observation data were processed by static PPP method using two different web services, namely Trimble RTX and CSRS-PPP. The results have shown a maximum permanent displacement of the SISA station: 5.3 cm horizontally, and -2.5 cm vertically

Theology of earthquakes
ŠTĚPANČÍKOVÁ, Petra
The master thesis deals with importance and meaning of earthquakes as a natural process as well as natural disasters in areas where earthquakes cause heavy damage to lives or properties. The goal of the thesis is to answer the question whether God reveals himself and his divine actions in earthquakes provided that he discloses himself in all his creation in the natural world. A complete list of references on earthquakes in Bible has been compiled and it shows that earthquakes mostly precede or accompany very important events, theophany, and eschatological happening, which always point to God´s glory, power and magnificence. The thesis summarizes historical evolution of theodicy related to earthquakes as natural disasters. There is a paradigm shift from God´s responsibility to responsibility of humankind, in relation to structural sins of the rich against the poor who most suffer during the natural disasters. The thesis offers also synthesizing view on earthquakes as natural process, especially how they reflect God´s invisible characteristics, such as God´s power, glory, magnificence, freedom, wisdom, eternal activity, order, harmony, balance, and beauty.
