Assessment of the development of milk prices in selected EU countries

Objective of this thesis was to describe and evaluate the development of milk prices in selected countries of the European Union and The Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the definition of price, pricing, division of prices, factors affecting the consumption of milk, the connection between consumption, price and income. The thesis also analyzes the particularities of agricultural prices compared with prices in other sectors. It was drawn from literature of Czech and foreign authors. In the methodical part there are described statistical and economic calculation methods. The development of milk prices in each selected EU countries is described in the practical part. Analyzed countries were not chosen randomly. In this paper, there are selected three old states (Denmark, Italy, United Kingdom) and three new states (Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia) and of course the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the price development is assessed by means of price indexes, using analysis of longer time series. In the longer term series there is used the time series analysis, where a linear trend is modeled and a verification of the correctness of the predicted trend results is made. The time series is also examined from the viewpoint of seasonal fluctuations. The thesis is more interested in the national environment, efficiency of large milk producers. In the third part there is calculated the dependence of price development on income situation in each country and the impact of prices on consumption. Coefficients of income elasticity and elasticity of consumption were used. Price and income elasticity was compared in each country of the EU. The conclusion contains summary of results and performed discussion.

Financial benchmarking of two agriculture companies

The thesis is focused on the financial benchmarking of two agricultural enterprises. This financial benchmarking is part of corporate financial management. The aim was to identify the causes of disparities in development and the status of financial situation of the two compared enterprises (based on the results of the financial analysis for the years 2009-2013).

Využití regionálních potraviny k podpoře pěstování místních plodin

This thesis deals with the project "Regional food" in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the description of the Czech agriculture, labeling of food and agricultural products in the Czech Republic and on the trademark "Regional food" including its principles and objectives. On top of that there are also explained the benefits of using the trademark "Regional food", its future perspectives and further opportunities in the Czech republic. In the practical part there is the evaluation of the survey performed on the collection of information from the written standardized questionnaires. The questionnaire was answered by 388 respondents.

Vliv zemědělství a navazujících odvětví na rozvoj obce - případová studie

The topic of my bachelor thesis is "The impact of agriculture and related industries in the development of the community - the case study." The issue was to work out the strategic plan for the municipality Prostějov and to evaluate the impact of selected agricultural sector at the village in the past and anticipated impact in the future. The theoretical part describes the position of the agricultural sector in the Czech Republic, the production of sugar and the sugar industry in Moravia. In the practical part there is performed an analysis of the municipality Prostějov and assessment of the impact of sugar rafinery Vrbátky a.s. on a given municipality. In the concluding part there is an evaluation of the results achieved, the impact of business on sugar rafinery and proposed recommendation for improving the situation.

Bachelor thesis describes the development of Irish agriculture using given indicators . The theoretical part deals with the position of agriculture, types of agricultural production and agribusiness. The practical part describes Ireland, by selected macroeconomic and demographic factors. Price conditions , foreign trade and production and consumption indicators are used to analyze the agrarian sector of Ireland. This acquired data are used to evaluate the situation and possible future developments .

Rozvoj venkova v Mikroregionu Telčsko s důrazem na podnikání v agrárním sektoru

This diploma thesis deals about the possibilities of the country development in Telčsko microregion with the emphasis on enterprising in agrarian sector. The characteristics of Telčsko microregion viewed from natural and socio--economical aspects are involved as an integral part into this thesis. There are villages with developing potential and prevailing residential function singled out in this elaboration. In case of the selected villages with developing potential, the analysis of the entrepreneurial possibilities with the emphasis on primary sector or on its combination with processing of primary products, agritourism and with production of energies from renewable resources has been realized here. The method of structured interviews with significant officials is used for deeper exploration. These debates are focused on economical, social and environmental aspects of the development. The research results are photodocumentated and summarized in cartographic files.

Produkční a cenové souvislosti vývoje komoditní vertikály obilí

This diploma thesis deals with the cereals supply chain. It characterises and analyses its development in the basic production and price context. Within the literature review is generally described the issue of creating the commodity verticals and webs in nowadays understanding of agribusiness. The next part of the thesis is based on the evaluation of the structural changes of Czech agriculture and evaluation of the impact of these changes in the production and economical context. Subsequently, the thesis is focused on the interactions of sectors within agribusiness. It proves the relation between declining livestock production and the development of cereals supply chain. It analyses the possibilities of agricultural producers to market their production within each branch of processing industry of cereals. It explores the preconditions of the competitiveness of cereals producers. Therefore the price and production relations and the position of each subject within the downstream market are furthermore explored. Also the option of an export of the cereals on the global markets of agribusiness is considered.

This bachelor thesis deals with the conditions of the particular vine production company development according to present model of agriculture in commodity vertical vine / wine. In the literature review, there are characterized circumstances and effects influencing vine business in present developing agribusiness and specifics of the Czech market and agriculture after joining the EU. The second part of the thesis is focused on specific winery, which is characterized from marketing communication point of view. Further, a financial analysis was prepared showing economical situation of the company. As a result, the bachelor thesis evaluates conditions of the winery development.

Malé a střední podnikání v odvětví zemědělství

This thesis deals with the issue of subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises in the agricultural sector. The main objective is to demonstrate the importance of subsidies and their impact on financial results. Application will be made on practical examples of small enterprises - cooperative farm and private farm, and medium-sized enterprise - school farm Žabčice. To achieve results, there was used secondary data which was obtained from the Czech Statistical Office, Eurostat and the Ministry of Agriculture. The operational objective was the analysis of income, costs and revenues from plant and animal production of the given companies in the year 2013. Within the crop production, there was analyzed wheat, barley and canola. Within the animal products, there were analyzed fattening bulls. Based on the results of the analysis the necessity of subsidies has been demonstrated.
