State castle Litomyšl library. The history of the library collection, the analysis and cataloguing of its greatest part
Večeře, Vít ; Sládek, Miloš (advisor) ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the library of the state castle Litomyšl that was created as a product of the state institutions in the second half of the 20th century. The thesis deals with the topic in two fundamental segments - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part provides comprehensive processing of the library history and analysis of the particular unit especially from the topical, chronological and geographical point of view. The paper also focuses on the language, provenance as well as physical condition of the books and especially the graphics of the prints. From a thematic point of view, particular emphasis is placed on the most interesting, though not very numerous, group of religious prints and manuscripts. The practical part of the thesis, which consists in the cataloguing of the fund, brings the greatest factual contribution, especially to Národní památkový ústav that will therefore obtain a complex overview on one of its collections, but also to specialized public, for whom the composition of the catalogue means the possibility of the research use.

The libraries of Lichnowsky noble family are currently composed of the sections. The first one is the main family line library stored in Hradec nad Moravicí castle and the latter is the one originally from Chuchelná castle. This thesis focuses on 16-18th century prints as parts of the above mentioned libraries. The aim here is the content and provenance analysis of the library fund of Lichnowsky within the suggested periods of time. At the front, the attention is on signature lines and on the question, whether the Chuchelná library contains books that once belonged to private property of Lichnowsky family. In the following chapters, it is explained why the scale of the analysis is limited to the selected centuries. The answer also reflects the general topic of understanding castle libraries. The focus is also on the history of the noble family of Lichnowsky. After localization of the library itself, major parts of the thesis follow, which chapters comprising the content and provenance analysis of the libraries. The provenance chapter has two parts. Bohemika in the castle library collection in Český Krumlov
ČECHOVÁ, Petra
My thesis Bohemika in the castle library collection in Český Krumlov is devoted to the processing of the Czech collection of the castle library in Český Krumlov. The primary source are Czech books, which are now stored in the castle library. The Czech collection was developed by the aristocratic family of Schwarzenberg. In my thesis I deal not only with the general evaluation of this part of the collection, but also with the attitude of individual book owners towards the Czech language and literature. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter briefly describes the development of Český Krumlov Castle and the castle library, the second chapter is devoted to the general evaluation of the Czech collection in the library. The third chapter outlines the historical development of Schwarzenberg family in the concept of the castle library. There is a significant point of view of the owners of the Czech books and the access of the individual members to the Czech language and literature. The fourth chapter focuses in detail on the area of artistic literature and its presence in the castle library. The fifth chapter deals with the Czech collection of the castle library in Vrchotovy Janovice and its owners, particularly with the baroness Sidonie Nádherná from Borutín. The book collections of both the libraries are compared in the end of the thesis. The thesis also includes the catalogue of the Czech books, which I prepared and organized.
