Articulation of public policy to euthanasia

In my diploma work I focused on the problems of euthanasia and its potential legalization in the Czech Republic from the point of view of public policy. Aim of the diploma work was to uncover key events and key actors commenting on the problems of euthanasia and its potential legalization. In my work I make use of the theories of The Advocacy Coalition Framework and The Agenda-Setting Theory and seek to identify basic value stands and major arguments of individual actors. Based on detailed analysis of key actors and key events I intend to proceed to an evaluation of the situation existing in the field of the legalization of euthanasia in the Czech Republic and to make an attempt to anticipate the future developmentand issues concerning potential passing of the law on euthanasia.
Transformation of the Public Discourse on Euthanasia between 2008 and 2020

Klára Žáková, Proměna veřejného diskurzu o eutanázii mezi lety 2008 a 2020 The theoretical part of this work will be an interpretation of used terms and a presentation of arguments for and against euthanasia with the help of research of academic publications and articles. The analytical part of the work will be qualitative research, where I will perform a discursive analysis of the legalization of euthanasia in the Czech Republic. It will focus on the change of approaches during the years 2008-2020, when the draft law on legalization took place and their subsequent nonacceptance. The analysis will focus on the media image of this situation, the actors who enter into this issue and their attitudes. The primary source will be the media archive Newton Media, which will help map the media space on this topic in the Czech Republic.
