The Creation of poets and its didactic potential - the work of nominees for the J. Orten prize for literature in the years 2015 - 2020

The thesis on Creation of a young generation of poets and its didactic potencial deals with the poetic work of authors entering the book market in the period 2010-2020. Its central hypothesis suggests that modern poetry can be enriching for students and that it has much to offer to the adolescent readership. The thesis aims to create functional didactic potentials and literary lessons that demonstrate the contribution of young poetry in educational settings. The thesis addresses a selection of poets nominated for best poetry collections by authors under thirty of the Jiří Orten Prize. The thesis considers the socio-cultural context of the turn of the millennium, it examines the developmental tendencies of contemporary poetry and, furthermore, discusses the methodological approaches to working with poetry in scholarly communication at secondary school. The second part of the thesis briefly introduces the selected authors and their work and provides annotations to poetry collections. The central part of the thesis analyses specific poetic texts in terms of their didactic potential i.e. by analyzing and providing recommendations for teaching in secondary school.
