Piece of heaven

The bachelor’s thesis A Piece of Heaven deals with the theme of the effort exerted in order to achieve an illusory goal. I depict the space of primary desire in the work through ultramarine landscapes with hills. The only thing that man has in this landscape is curiosity, which constantly pushes him to move forward and try to acquire new experiences that are extremely precious for our lives.
The use of wooden printing blocks (woodcut) for the decoration of popular prints and folks prints from the Landfras printer in the first half of the 19th century

The diploma thesis - in the context of the development of book printing and the history of Landfras's printer in Jindřichův Hradec - monitors the development of woodcut and their use for the decoration of secular broadside ballad and popular prose romances (Eylenspigl, Tristan and Isolde, Hacafírek, etc.) in the 19th century, focussing on Landfras' printer. The work reflects the history and method of processing woodcut, evaluates their artistic level, the relationship of graphic content to the text and working procedures of book graphics of the time. It also focuses on the history of broadside ballad and entertaining popular prose romances, on their format, content and decoration.
Edvard Munch- more that creator of "The Scream"

The bachelor's work named "Edvard Munch - more, than the creator of "The Scream"cosists of the theoretical and the practical parts. The theoretical part explores life and art of one of the most important Norwegian artists - Edvard Munch. The important part is, where some of artist's selected works are being analysed, especially the painting "The Scream". In the practical part, the knowledge of the artist's techniques is being applied, and using that basis the final sketches and the acrylic painting are made.
Biography and Works of Printer and Wood-Cutter Michael Peterle (†1588)

Thesis about life and work of a printer and a woodcutter Michael Peterle is focused mainly on his assumed woodcutting activity (he was active between years 1562-1588). It is based on following assumption: although Michael Peterle did not sign his woodcuts, he illustrated portion of his prints. His printing office produced multitude of topical compositions and some interesting illustrated books. Photodocumentation and description of woodcutting illustrations and decoration (according to Soupis tisků Michaela Peterla staršího a jeho nástupců by Pravoslav Kneidl and more recent sources) was created during writing of this thesis. Attention was also focused on context of usage of illustrations. Afterwards Illustrations and decoration of Peterle's competition in the Czech Republic and Germany were examined. Conducted research showed, that Michael Peterle was not woodcutter, but only a colorist and a printer. This thesis provides another view on printing production in the second half of the 16th century. Motifs of Nature in the Work of J. Váchal as an Inspiration for a Cycle of Original Graphic Works

The thesis is made up of two parts - theoretical and practical one. The theoretical one deals with the creation of unique personality of Josef Váchal and in the historical context, evaluates how much his creative realization is connected with his philosophy and lifestyle. The most attention is paid to his creations with natural themes. The practical part is closely connected with the findings gathered in the theoretical part, based on which a collection of author's graphics was created. The collection is accompanied by an author's diary and a collection of photos. The whole thesis is completed by picture attachments to both theoretical and practical part.
On the other side of the world. Japanese woodcut, its roots and differences

KEY WORDS Japan, visual culture, woodcut, woodblock print, Ukiyo-e ANOTATION During her stay in Japan, the student will gather and analyze aspects of visual communication and culture focusig on Japanese woodcut technique Ukiyo-e. She will study appropriate specialized literature on the subject of Japanese woodcut and try to formulate her experience based on her european views. She will use her own knowledge as well as the knowledge gained from the specialized literature and provide space for the comparison of Japanese and European visual culture. In the didactic part, the student will deal with the project of educational art exercise based on specifics of the Japanese art language of Ukiyo-e. In the author's part, the student will focus on application of Japanese specifics of Ukiyo-e art language on her work.
Biblical parable and its artistic interpretation

Diploma thesis named "Biblical parables and its artistic interpretation" consists of two parts theoretical part and practical part. The goal of the theoretical part is to compare biblical story from the Old Testament with a New Testament parable, describe and explain all fundamental symbols found in these narratives. The first part of the diploma thesis describes the origin of Bible and Bible in general. The story of Sacrificing of Isaac is chosen from the Old Testament and parable of Prodigal son is chosen from the New Testament. The theoretical part deals with description of both narratives and the symbols involved in them and also artists who were inspired by the Book of books in their work. In the practical part findings form theoretical part will be applied to create free graphical papers using linocut and woodcut techniques with the Prodigal son comeback theme.

Diploma thesis has an aim to present to students of elementary school graphical methods of relief printing by method of methodological video, for better understanding and imagination of students. The theoretical part occupies with graphic, the fenomena, that accompanies us from prehistoric times. The thesis is going to present method of relief printing, its development and important authors of relief printing. It makes the students familiar with the most important graphic works in history and makes their analysis. It presents the most common subjects and social aspects of graphical production in the final part. The practical part elaborates technology of instructive video and following application for students of various age and its final marking their work. The conclusion of thesis create supplements of the practical part, examples of models and final works.
