Prediction of Warranty Costs

The thesis deals with warranty costs and their prediction when providing one-dimensional and two-dimensional warranties. This thesis focuses on the presentation of practically applied methods and procedures which enable suppliers and manufacturers to get the information necessary for rational decision making while providing warranties for complex products as early as in the initial stages of their life cycle. The thesis starts with a concise summary and evaluation of a present state of the issue. In the first part of the thesis the possibilities of warranty costs prediction for complex products are analyzed when using one-dimensional and namely two-dimensional quality warranties. In this part there is a detailed analysis of different possibilities when predicting systems and items reliability. Next, there is introduced the way of integrating warranty costs prediction into the FMEA/FMECA method. In the second part of the thesis there is specified the procedure for determining the moment of warranty period termination using two-dimensional warranty in case sufficient data from complaint procedure is not available. In the third part the time development of warranty costs and related measures are determined, and the way of prediction of their time development is suggested. The way of continuous monitoring, and evaluating warranty costs and related measures are also introduced in this part of the thesis.

Consumer protection law in Czech republic and abroad

The main purpose of this thesis is concise description of consumer protection law in Czech republic and its comparison with the legislation in United States of America in selected legal question - warranty. In the first part of the thesis there are defined the general issues related to the consumer protection law and briefly described the development of consumer protection law not only in Czech republic, but also abroad and one part of the thesis is also dedicated to the sources of current czech consumer protection law. Next part is dealing with the impacts of new amendments to the law of consumer protection law. In the last, comparative part, we are comparing selected legal issue of warranty in czech and United States of America legal system.
The comparative analysis of consumer protection law

The main purpose of this thesis is the comparison of consumer protection legislation in the Czech republic, United States of America and Croatia and the comparison of selected legal questions. After the introduction to the general issues related to consumer protection, namely the basic concepts, the development of consumer protection law in the world and the reasons of protection of consumer, the work deals with legal sources of current czech, american and croatian consumer protection law. Actual comparisons of personally selected legal questions is creating the core of the thesis. We are comparing legal definitions of basic subjects of consumer protection law, warranty and products liability as described in laws of each country.
Optimalizace portfolia cenných papírů pomocí strukturovaných produktů

Diplomová práce popisuje vlastnosti a rizika investování do strukturovaných produktů v Německu. Součástí práce je zároveň otestování efektivnosti využití Bonus, Diskont a Outperformance certifikátů při správě finančních prostředků. Analýza ukazuje, že je možné pomocí Diskont a Bonus certifikátů dosáhnout vyššího výnosu očištěného o riziko. Outperformance certifikáty umožňují dosáhnout vyššího výnosu pouze při výrazném růstu (zároveň s vyšším rizikem). Veškeré investice do strukturovaných produktů jsou porovnávány s výnosem u indexu DJ Euro Stoxx 50 (Total Return).

The diploma thesis deals with the comparison of commercial contracts securities in the Czech Republic and in Germany. The first part of the thesis describes the general question of secured transactions. The second chapter deals with comparison of the lien and the right of retention. The third part analyzes penalty, warranty and recognition of an obligation. The last chapter summarizes the main differences between commercial contracts securities in the Czech Republic and in Germany.
Derivatives in family finances

This thesis focuses on the derivatives market. The goal is to choose ones that are suitable for use for the benefit of family finances and planning. Mapping the world market derivatives, and then describes the basic characteristics of the main types of contracts. After the general characteristics of the derivatives in the introduction, are briefly described two types (forwads and swaps) that are not directly used in the family finances. In their description, however, are pointed out the fundamental principles of derivatives and trading with them. In the next section, the focus is on those derivatives that are suitable for use in household budgets. They include Futures, Options, Warrants, Investment Certificates, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF), Contracts for diference (CFD). There are also discussed basic principles of these instruments, their use and the current bid.
Use of financial derivatives in business

The paper shows the main possibilities of using financial derivatives in business with an emphasis on Czech corporate clients. It describes selected types of financial derivatives, such as forwards, futures, FRA, options, warrants and investment certificates. Based on practical examples, it shows the possibilities of using selected financial derivatives to hedge currency, interest rate and commodity risk, and also to evaluate funds of an entrepreneur. It also analyzes and compares individual possibilities and attempts to point out main advantages and disadvantages of using financial derivatives in practical business.

Four bank institutions offer the investment by internet nowadays. The goal of the dissertation is to analyse the new investment. Theoretical part describes electronic banking development, legal amendment, security and possibilities of investment. Further on it defines advantages and disadvantages of practical use of investment by internet. The second part of dissertation is focused on the practice. It includes the real study, comparison of investment bank institutions' possibilities and real investment example. Here I tried the on-line investment myself.
Analysis of modern instruments on capital markets

This thesis is focused on some of the new instruments on capital markets -- specifically on Investment Certificates, Warrants, Exchange Traded Funds and Contracts for Difference. It shows fundamental principle of behavior, important specifications and comparison to other investment products. The text further examine overall instruments' offering especially on the European markets and compare trading possibilities of the main brokers in the Czech Republic. The work analyses price changes of the instruments and related underlying assets and examine risk and profitability with respect to the latest global financial crisis.
