This thesis gives a brief overwiev of high speed cutting technology. It out-lines material behavior at high strain rates in primary and secondary shear zone and chip forming. It continous in choice of tool material and using in various work material. There is also a reference to high speed grinding, defining its base mechanism and analyzing this process and its perpectives.
