Význam vodního díla Pastviny pro rozvoj mikroregionu Orlicko

This thesis deals with the significance of the Pastviny dam for the development of mikroregion Orlicko and its potential from the viewpoint of subsequent development of tourism in the area. The main subject, which the thesis discusses on background of Pastviny dam, is the connection water - recreation - regional development. This thesis describes Pastviny recreational area as an important recreational area in the mikroregion Orlicko, identifies the attitude of local administration to the development of tourism, describes the economical conditions in the location and on the basis of the historical progress of using this location for recreation, the thesis presents the current strengths and weaknesses of Pastviny recreational area. In the end of this thesis suggestions for the subsequent development of sustainable tourism in the interested area based on the SWOT analysis are mentioned.
Analysis of the Nonprofit Sector and its Potential for Regional Development

Nonprofit sector is regarded to be ever more significant part of a democratic society. Within the European context it is seen as a partner of public and commercial sectors also in relation to the development of specific regions. On the level of local action groups, which apply the LEADER methodology, it is directly defined as an inseparable partner of regional cooperation and development. The aim of the thesis is a detailed survey of nonprofit sector in the area of Local action group NAD ORLICÍ. Additionally, it focuses on analyzing the potential of nonprofit sector for the following development of the region. Several researches were conducted in order to collect as much data as possible. Analyses of publicly accessible databases and information sources as well as of records acquired from the respective specialized institutions were performed. Simultaneously, independent questionnaire surveys were carried out, focusing on representatives of local authorities and representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations. Both researches were mainly quantitative, having covered also some aspects of activities and cooperation between the non-governmental non-profit organizations and public sector by use of a simple qualitative analysis. The bachelor thesis is focused on defining and evaluating the role of small and medium sized enterprises in the development of rural regions; microregion Kromerizsko. An analysis of the structure of small and medium sized enterprises in the selected rural region has been carried out. In addition, the way of the small and medium enterprises engagement in development of the town is defined. Based on the analysis of primary and secondary data, recommendations are proposed to improve the performance of small and medium sized enterprises and thus to develop the whole area.

The theoretical part is focused on the family businesses, region, rural area, rural development and on regional development theories. The main objective is to define the role of agricultural family businesses in the development of district Vyškov. Role will be defined based on the collection of primary and secondary data and its subsequent analysis. Their role will be defined by the economic and social character of contribution. Factors for the success of the development strategy for rural microregions on the example of microregion Novostrašecko

The development strategy is one of the instruments supporting regional development of the territory and currently is being applied in most OECD countries. However, preparation and processing of a strategic document can not in itself. For the successful evaluation of a strategic document is essential the realization of its priorities and objectives. The presented work focuses on examining the factors that leads to the success of specific microregional strategies. The thesis discusses in detail the factors that can contribute to the successful fulfillment of the strategic plan and lead to the success of the development strategy and thus to the socio-economic position of the region where the strategy is implemented. The theoretical basis was tested on the example of two selected rural micro-regions. As a result of the work, it can be considered that the most significant impact on the success of the development strategy has a factor of human resources, which confirms one of the hypotheses stated. Another goalof the thesis is to find out how the municipal representatives and the chairman of the microregion perceives the success of the development strategy. This work is focused on rural regions, their definitions, functions, transformations and time development. The emphases is put on relationship of countryside and agriculture. The cooperation of rural municipalities with regards to drawing the grands is also mentioned. The suburbanization consequences toward rural regions is being discussed. The main scope of this test suggests that the countryside has got own trends and it is not possible to apply city trends for. The rural development is important in sense of permanently continuing development principles. Theoretical findings are converted into practice by analyzing area of Brno´s voluntary near by municipality union and also by area evaluation through SWOT analyses and then by suggesting a self-development strategy.

Support of regional development through the Local Action Group Podchlumí

The Diploma thesis deals with issues of the support of regional development through the Local Action Group Podchlumí, r.a. (LAG Podchlumí). The goal of this thesis was to explore the contribution of the LAG Podchlumí to quality of life of residents and business development. Assessment of the influence of LAG on regional development has been based on the existence and implementation of the Program of rural development program of the Czech Republic Axis IV. LEADER, which leads to an improvement of management and to mobilization of the natural inner potential of countryside. The Program of rural development represented the main financial source for fruition of LAG projects in the previous programming period. In this thesis, activities of the LAG Podchlumí and local subjects for support and development of partnership of residents and for public, business, and non-profit communities have been analysed. Implementation of own projects, through which the versatile development of the region, life improvement of residents, increase the attractiveness of the region has been evaluated. In order to get an independent and objective evaluation, an anonymous questionnaire has been conducted among residents of the region Podchlumí. Further, personal observation of the region Podchlumí, a study of professional literature as well as of internal materials of the LAG has been done. The hypothesis that the Local Action Group Podchlumí plays an important role in development of partnership of public administration of municipalities, agricultural subjects, independent agricultural as well as non-agricultural enterpreneurs, and non-profit organizations has been verified on the basis of analysis of realized activities. Support from the Program of countryside development to the region Podchlumí, Measure IV.1.2 Realization of local development strategy, contributed to achieving improvements in quality of life of residents. The greatest support was given to appearance of communities and quality of infrastructure, development of public facilities and services. Financial resources were spent also on modernization and development of agricultural as well as non-agricultural business. In comparison with other LAGs in the district Jičín, the LAG Podchlumí supported the greatest number of projects through the measure IV.1.2 of the Rural development program on realization of local developing strategy. It has been found by means of evaluation of the anonymous questionaire among residents of the region that residents perceive improvement of appearance and life of communities but they are not aware of the fact that many projects have been implemented with the contribution of activities of the LAG Podchlumí. For this reason, the LAG Podchlumí should focus more on propagation of its own activities. Residents of the region are interested in surrounding of their villages. It is possible to made conclusion that the results of analysis of activities of the LAG authenticated and confirmed correctness of the hypothesis that the Local Action Group Podchlumí plays an important role in development of partnership of public administration of municipalities, agricultural subjects, independent agricultural as well as non-agricultural enterpreneurs, and non-profit organizations.

In addition, the way of the small and medium enterprises engagement in development of the town is defined. On basis of an analysis of primary and se-condary data, recommendations on how the support in development of rural areas in relation to small and medium enterprises should be oriented are put forward.
Podmínky rozvoje mikroregionu na vnitřní periferii: případová studie Centra Železných hor

Diploma thesis "Conditions of rural development in the microregion in the Czech inner periphery: Case study Železné hory" is focused on the lagging regions of Czech Republic. The first part is devoted to the typology of Czech rural regions, to the term of the inner periphery, its definition and processing of the available literature. Acquired knowledge is applied to the micro-region Centrum Železných hor. The aim of the work consists in a brief description of the region with emphasis on symptoms peripherality and seeking development perspectives. The outcome of this work includes a SWOT analysis and design strategy for development of the micro-region, based on specific condition of the area. The main point of development strategy is focused on improving the social environment and the promotion of the so-called green tourism. At the end measures applicable to other regions of the inner periphery are recommended, especially close cooperation with MAS and human capital development.
