Analýza prostorového šíření jelena siky japonského (Cervus nippon nippon) v oblasti východních Čech a severní Moravy
Skoták, Vlastimil
In this work we are studying the expansion of sika deer (Cervus nippon nippon) in the Czech republic, particulary in East Bohemia and North Moravia. During the observation period from 1966 untill now the population of this species is continuously growing. At the same time damages, that sika deer causes to agricultural crops and woody vegetation in forests, increase too. Numbers of populations in Czech republic are calculated by the dates from particular municipalities. We pay attention especially to East Bohemia and North Moravia, where breeding area of sika deer is set. We use the dates about sika deer populations from particular shooting areas.
Population density of the roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) in Hartmanice district (SW Bohemia, Czech Republic)
Večeřová, Petra ; Červený, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Rohla, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis was based on frequently discussed topic of population density in hoofed game. The monitored area is in the south-west of Bohemia, in Hartmanice. The greater part of the territory extends into the conservation area and a smaller part od the Šumava National park, with this work focusing on the population density of roe deer. To determine population densities, two methods were used, one direct method and one indirect method. For the direct method, a census method was used for the roe deer from a high seat and the indirect method, a method of counting droppings was used on a sample of regulary cleaned surfaces. Counting was carried out on transects of 200 m2 (100 x 2 m) or (50 x 4 m). The present results indicate that the population of roe deer is seeing a long downward trend. Most roe deer prefer the brushwood at lower altitudes, at an altitude of 525 to 650 m above sea level (asl), with less occuring in the positions of the altitude of 950 to 1125 m asl. The habitat least preferred by roe deer was forests aged 81 years and older.
Population development and forest demage caused by moos in Lipno region (S Bohemia, Czech Republic)
Lupták, Jan ; Červený, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Holá, Michaela (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the development of abundance and the damage caused by an elk in Lipno area. It evaluates the size of the elk population in Lipno region, where the calculation of damage made by elk on commercial species takes place. Included in this thesis is a description of the occurrence of an elk in this area and it is later on followed by a general characterization. Another part deals with the development of abundance, which is based on observations made by local foresters and hunters. A further source for processing the results are hunting statistics. In the end the work deals with the assessment of damages, which are divided by year, type and species.
