Philippine measurement as a one of the criterions of maturity for the school attendance (?)
FÜRBACHOVÁ, Gabriela
This thesis presents the Philippine measurement as one of the criteria for school maturity and its dependence on individua) Basic physical dimensions. The Basic physical dimensions of four to eight-year-old children (natural height, height in sitting position, body weight, span of arms) were monitored for the purpose of this thesis. Then, the length of the lower segment of the body was calculated by taking the height in sitting position off the natural height. Some of the measured data were used to calculate indices: the height in sitting position to the natural height, the span of arms to the natural height and the length of the lower segment to the natural height. The data were statistically interpreted and the results put finto tables and graphs accompanied by texts. The data of the Basic physical dimensions and the age in relation to the Philippine measurement are an important part. On the basis of our results and measurements, the age of six is appeared to be a minimum requirement to start school. A more optima) solution would include postponing the age limit by about three to six months back.
The growth of the spine in childhood and adolescence considering patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Tichá, Natálie ; Zemková, Daniela (advisor) ; Mařík, Ivo (referee)
The knowledge of normal growth parameters, mainly including total body growth, spinal growth and pubertal growth spurt, is essential in treatment of all patients with spinal deformities and it allows a better understanding of both normal and abnormal spine growth and of the pathologic changes caused by onset spinal deformity in a growing spine. Childhood includes changes both in body proportions and also changes in sexual development. Sexual maturation has very tight correlation to skeletal development. Bone age is an important parameter used in consideration of development and growth of the child, it relates to maximal growth rate in time of pubertal spurt. This thesis is focused on summary of findings of spinal growth in childhood and adolescence in order to predict spine growth in clinical practice. The thesis considers patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, which is the most common spinal deformity that affects children and adolescents.
Longitudinal monitoring of bodily growth among children in České Budějovice in individual-growth waveforms selection
HARTLOVÁ, Michaela
This work is specialized on long - term monitoring, putting down and evaluationing parameters of bodily growth on instances of individual-growth waveforms in a group of children. For experimental part of this work was provided childrens metering, both sex, on four primary schools in České Budějovice and in the surrounding. Data were extracted in terms of research in years 1997- 2006. In the scope of my diploma work I took the part in this metering in years 2004 - 2006. Repeatedly was observed a group of 110 children, from that 52 boys and 58 girls. The measuring was concerned with 29 somatometrics characteristics, three of these were chosen and are the basis of this work. They are its stature, height in sitting and iliospinale spot level - longitude of upper limb.
